When trying the Z1 in store I couldn't believe how smooth the refresh rate was with the camera on screen. Smoothest I ever seen on any phone and that's without OIS
Phone?? What phone?? |

I bet there's an app for that
1. Connect your Android device to your computer (Windows or Mac should both work) via the USB cable.
2. On your Android, pull down the main menu (swipe down from the top of the screen) and select "USB connection."
3. On the next page, choose USB Mass Storage and hit OK.
4. You'll see a new drive or "Removable Disk" appear on your computer for the SD card. Open it up, and copy all the files inside to a new location on your computer. I would put the date right into the name of the folder—something like "130815_ANDROID-SD-CARD-BACKUP"—so you can very easily identify it and when it was created. PCMag

My Z1 is about to arrive (any day next week), and I was going to ask you guys, since Z1 doesn't come with much of video codecs, what app do you recommend in terms of additional video format/codec support? |

Does anyone know if the bundled headphones which came with my Z1 are waterproof or waterresistant? Because with their soft rubbery layout and buttons, they look like it and with the Z1 being waterproof and its waterproof headphonejack it would make sense if the bundled headphones are waterproof as well?
It doesn't say anywhere, but who knows?
This is how they look: http://www.amazon.de/Sony-Eri[....]1&keywords=m1hc+sony+livesound
The model that comes with the Z1 is the MH1C which uses a different audio standard but is otherwise the same.
BTW not everybody got M1HC or even headphones in the box, mine came with MH750 which are ok but not outstanding - they remained in the box - but I have to tell you that you were extremely fortunate with the M1HC - believe it or not they are extremely good and highly rated - there's a little gem for sale at one of the well known online retailers right now selling the SE earlier version of the MH1C (CTIA) called the MH1 (OMTP) at an extremely low price - the early version are just as good but will not work with the Z1 out of the box because the mic and gnd connection are reversed (earlier standard OMTP) but with the purchase of a cheap adaptor $4 you're good to go - you can tell the difference as the SE earlier type have the SE logo and the later CTIA just Sony - in fact the "C" in the name MH1C indicates CTIA, hardware wise the MH1C and MH1 are the same except for the mic and ground connection
You can usually get the M1H on various online sources at a very cheap price and for what they are it's a steal

I just got my Xperia Z1 and I really love it. I don't have any problem with the viewing angle, maybe slightly less compared to Z ultra. Z ultra viewing angle is perfect. The best part is the built quality and design. IMO the best looking and premium feel smartphone todate.
Off topic, I asked the store about Vaio tap 11, they told it has been delayed to November. Original release date was October and the price for Malaysia has been confirmed. Btw, I'm very impressed with Vaio pro. It is so beautiful.

I would like to ask those with z1 to try take some shots with another camera app than the stock( i use camera fv-5). If you do, choose 18.7mp and compare with stock 20.7 mp. To my eyes there is a clear difference. You get rid of most of these sparks and speckles you can see in 20.7 mp photos. You can take a look at my recent pic in the photo section and you will see. |

Now I think that SBH52 would go nicely with my Z1

Even though Z ultra screen is better, but you will not have problem with Z1 because 99.9% of the time, you will face the phone straight on and only 0.1% chances you will Look the phone at the extreme angle. The Z1 display is very good head on. |
