well if the retailers cannot get a specific date on the availability of this unit and SE refuses to be specific about its release which has now left us playing tennis btwn these two for info.One has to start wondering if anyone at all really knows whats going on with the special emphasis on SE,they do seem to have got too big so much that misinforming,delays and exxaggerations to both the retailers and the public dont seem to bother them that much.Whilst the P990 is a Great unit if not the best(its all subjective from ones viewpoint)one has to wonder if this greatness can be reflected commercially when the blunders,inefficiencys and sometimes just pure incompetency on SE are taken into account (this only refers to the p990 only).Whilst the hardcore SE base will be retained as well as other fairly knowleagable pple it is hard to see it making ground in attracting many new pple to this range as the delays have subsequently given opponents, esp nokia, to release more attractive models than they initially had released taking the sparkle out of potential p990 buyers.Whilst technology wise the P990 can hold its own for another 2years ,its foray however may not last the next 6months as other manufacters take tentative steps to bridge the gap and even SE themselves make a few cosmetic changes on this model(ie add wifi g, put 3,2megapixel camera ,edge and increase the internal memory etc)just to try and gain an extra appeal on the market and gain something out of the current models R&D |

The review is positive, ranking the P990i 7th out of 195 various mobiles. The negative points they found are basically the ones we knew already:
Size and Weight
No EDGE support
Sometimes slow UI response
No ringing profiles
Visibility of the screen in sunlight
Internet browser has problems with Czech language characters

just saw a shop here in Dubai, UAE selling ISP-25 the stylus pack for the P990. Its unbelivable that they have that already while the phone is still unreleased. Its original by the way(in blister pack and original  packing), they also have the ones for the M600i and it costs only 20aed thats about $5.45 for 3 stylus.

Is the external antenna connector on the back of the phone strictly for the mobilephone frequency bands, 900/1800/1900, or is it possible that it's also hooked up to the 2400 wlan frequency band?
Would be cool if it was, then we could do some serious wardriving

Hi guys, new to the forum.
Just been into O2 shop and the pulled up the roadmap for the P990i and said they should be getting it in a fortnight (14th August).
Hope this is true, can't wait much longer.

thats what a retailer told me today from where i always buy, he said 15th august p990i will be out !!
