Control yourself Max .
Long time since I've seen you on . So are you planning on the X1 or the Pro. You should take a look at the Samsung Omnia as well. Its got the best cam on WM phones, 5Mpx .

Thanks aksd, but, those aren't the kind of reviews I was talking about. I'm looking for large in-depth reviews, not just hardware overviews. I guess the xda-developers thread will grow into something in-depth eventually. |

Well I haven't seen good detailed review of the XPERIA which includes review of the UI too... In fact I am still looking for one. But after all, a Windows Mobile overview may help you finding the info you are looking for...

X1 is not on the market yet...Touch Pro IS
BengalBoy has the most extensive review thus far. The smape review was informative as well as the umpc preview. There are other smaller ones as well. There are just no comparable reviews for the TouchPro, which I find odd. |

i've heard alot about the 800x480 resolution and the fact that its going to create problems with alot of 3rd party applications. compared to the touch pro's 640x480 "standard" resolution screen
how big of a problem will it be? |

According to BengalBoy's experience, it's a non-issue. |

@WhyBE
According to Omnia users it is for some apps and that uses a WQVGA res, similar in aspect ration to WVGA

I'm keen to wait and see what the ergonomics of the X1 are like. For example how it feels in the hand and how well the form factor works. But I'm not gonna get the x1 unless I really like the feel of it and nothing else better gives me the same feel.
I think it will be streets ahead of the imate/xda range of wm's even though I was tempted a little by the imate 9502. It's got everything (though I'm not sure of the video recording format). But once I got a chance to try it out I found it too big and bulky to carry around in my pocket or in a pouch. Nice as it is techwise, it's ugly and bulky and will not fullfill my dream of a true in-pocket all-in-one that will finally bring both my pda AND my mobile into one device.
Recently I've bought a new mobile for pda use, an SGH-i780. This phone has almost everything bar a decent camera and vga screen. It's got gps, hsdpa (3.6mbps), 320x320 screen (but you can get 640X640 using realvga), 256/128 memory, sdhc (I'm using 8GB), 400MHz processor, a2dp, wifi, it even has a small 8mm square finger pad that operates a mouse instead of the standard dpad. It's actually a very cool handset, and quite small, but a non-AF camera which is of passable quality but in the long term not tenable (no macro, no light, no af, and in this day and age not enough megapixels)
For now I'm happy to stick with the i780 as pda for business use and muiltimedia and my K800 and W910 for voice, messaging, music and camera. (even though the W910 has no AF, the camera is still better than the i780). Both the W910 and the i780 do pretty decent video recording albeit qvga only.
When X1 comes out I'll have to decide between it and what ever else is available at the time. If I still can't find a WM phone that I am happy to use as my sole handset, then I will get the X1 anyway and supplement it with a C905 (and just use the X1 as a PDA)
(btw, I sync all my pda data between phone, computer and pda, so I can get away with not using the PDA for several days at a time sometimes, therefore wifi on a non-pda phone will leave me even less reliant on the pda)

@max_wedge
What do you use your PDA for?
I'm thinking the X1 is going to be the best do-it-all...for the moment. |
