Yes, I use Live but don't go to the Live Portal. I used it at first to download some of the games from the website. Now I just check Esato out on wap sometimes.

Hi deidoo ( I intentionally added an extra o
Welcome to the Egyptian forum on Esato whose foundation is attributed to the ever energetic but now lazy mustafabay
As for your comments, I'm a pretty functional person, whatever brand fulfills my needs, I will use it. Maybe that's why I switched from Nokia to SE when I was looking for good functionality
The way SE is going, I think they're gonna be one of the top 3 mobile manufacturerers in the world in a matter of 4-5 years. But first they have to take out such ghouls as Samsung and LG, which is still a huge task. SE now still ranks 6 among the top 10. The next step for SE is to take out Siemens which has already been taken out by LG (LG now ranks 4 and Siemens 5).
As for our GPRS service in Egypt, both live and life are pretty much the same;they're both for ringtone and clip downloads and that's it.
I personally use web all the time for email exchange and chat with overseas friends somtimes. I rarely use wap though. That's it for me.

So I'm lazy, so sue me
I don't think you are quite correct, I believe SE is now number 5 and Siemens is number 6 and with Benq rebranding its own phones to Siemens it could go very wrong for them. And the next goal is LG which have caught up with Nokia and Samsung in the a bility to pour out tons of phones that are too similar to tell appart. I don't really care what SE ends up to be, all I wish is that somebody serious would come take up SE's dealership. And while I'm at it I'd like to know if Itisalat is going to carry anything other than Nokia because in other countries it carries almost every brand that exists encluding SE. What I really hate is that the current dealer is always in a coma and only drops prices once per product. P910 is an exception as its had 2 price drops but is still sold at an unbelievable LE4000. People are saying the P990 is supposed to come out at the same price as the N70 which is now here for LE4000. Why I going into this rant, I have no idea, all I know is I have to go now.

@mustafabay
Now that I've managed to arouse you from the coma you were in through our usual provocative manner
It's not a matter of "belief" when it comes to marketing and market figures. the top 6 are:
1- Nokia, with a market share of 31%
2- Motorola, 17%
3- Smasung 12%
4- L.G.
5- SIEMENS
6- SE
(from 4-6, less than 10% market share)
SE haven't pushed back Siemens yet. This will only happen when the Y/Y results of 2005 come out in favor of SE, just as the Q3 results came out telling that L.G. pushed back Siemens one place behind not 2, something hopefully SE will do by the end of this year.

I don't know how you can say that SE didn't push Siemens back? Logic would dictate that LG would push Siemens one place down and if it went down to places than SE pushed too?

This is not the game of musical chairs my dear friend , I push you one place, then you push the person beside you another place nor is it a domino effect either.
Market figures haven't shown that SE has pushed Siemens back yet.
It's as simple as that. Siemens market share is corroding yet it still hasn't been exceeded by SE. |

I agree with mustafabay about SE dealer here.....if u noticed the ads on SE (and siemens too) are negligible, just some lousy newspaper ads, no signs, no TV ads...i think if they care about advertising, thier market shares will grow remarkably |

Ok Mahora where did you see figures that show siemens ahead of SE? SE is almost constantly improving and Siemens is almost always deteriorating and since the gap was so small I think SE should be ahead.
deido I think people that don't buy nokia do it for two reasons. Either they think another brand or phone in their budget range is better or because they don't want to be so common. SE is gaining in sales because people are finding that they make good phones and while being unique they don't have to worry about not being compatible anymore thanks to polyphonics. If I had the money I'd apply for the dealership in Egypt, since I'm quite a few million short I won't, it your loss but what can I do.

I don't really think there is a phone that I'd want that is currently on the market. But if I must pick one I'd say a W800. I really would love to get a P990 but I don't see it happening in the first half of '06.
A real dream phone will never really happen, try this: Great screen not too fussy on size but touch is necessary, battery life of a week or more, flexibility of a computer, but simpler to operate, 10GB of storage--flash not HDD, minimum 5MP camera, radio and TV reception and more. Don't you think I should go back to sleep?

I'd agree with mustafabay on the w800 choice. To me it's only challenged by a 6680/81 coz of the classic design and the potential of the phone. Though Nokia simply killed it when it split it in 2 (although the predecessor 6630 had both 3G&Edge at the same time, a very nice combination, yet I hate the design of the 6630). An N70 also seems a reasonable variant.
As for mustafabay's dreams of a phone, I don't think they're tha tfar from happening. At least as far as some of the specs are concerned.
Camera resolution is swiftly increasing, flash/hdd abilities are the vogue now (2GB memory cards & 3GB HDDs are already in sight).
I think what's gonna drive these specs accelaration to the max is the firece competition between companies trying to gain as much market share as possible with such drastic changes in the market as the rise and demise of such major manuf as SE and Siemens respectively. And that's gonna continue in the upcoming range of 4-5 years.
So my dear mustafabay your dreams might not be that far after all

No Mahora it'll be 8-10 years, I don't want to pay more than 700LE for a phone with those specs

The range that I gave you (4-5 years) is what companies usually plan for, i.e. the medium range. But if 700 l.e. is all you can afford, then you're right, you'll have to wait 8-10 years to buy a phone that's gonna be produced 4-5 years from now
