It is possible you just need someone to write some code!

Has anyone tried using the online update service to revert back to the P900 firmware? I'm assuming recovery mode will have to be used...
It'd be cool to know if this works... |

Are all the apps working after converting? Except for Remote p900, which probably will in the future. |

hate to disagree, but Remote doesn't work fine - it's impossible to write sensible CAPS characters because the P910 keyboard handler won't let you do shifting properly - or is there a setting I don't know about?
Everything else seems OK - I've had a crash with Music Player once, and Handy Day 2004 keymapping doesn't work (and it doesn't seem to switch to "today" view on flip open).
I'm a bit suspicious of battery and memory usage - my battery ran flat for the first time yesterday (admittedly I was playing a lot of music) and RAM usage seems to climb over a day or so. Nothing definitive yet though (and certianly nothing to make me flash back to original P900). |

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to make the modification in Paris. If someone has a way to do it, I am interested in.
Thanks |

@nutball73
Ref HandyDay2004
Yes button assignments don't work & the icon in task bar conflicts with fullscreen view in built in Picture App (but not Resco Picture App?).
But, HandyDay2004 does come active when flip is opened. You sure you have it set in preferences?
What do you mean "sensible caps characters"?
Just for note incase anybody didn't realise, pressing CAPS key twice on keypad locks it in caps lock, press again to cancel.
Same for numlock to lock keypad to the red characters. Only daft thing is that you have to come out of NUM lock to enter a fullstop (unless someone knows otherwise).

Thanks for the tip. I don't know what happened, but I just hit shift a couple fo times and then caps lock a few times and now it seems to work fine!
In fact I can't get the multi-prompt back again. Very strange indeed. Anyway it works so cheers!

The upgrade can only be done using SE Fighter cable, dongle & software & a special firmware image.
I dunno how many have done it, but I certainly have - and at the moment I'm keeping it that way.
It gives you the 910 firmware, so you get Word and Excel editors built in (Quickoffice), PDF+, a better browser, HTML mail, and support for MS Duo Pro (I believe, I still don't have a big card).
The biggest downside is that Bluetooth doesn't work. I've also noticed a few slowdowns from time to time but nothing serious.
Is it worthwhile? Well I don't use Bluetooth, and I now have more memory available after de-installing Opera & Quickoffice, plus I have HTML mail & Duo support. All for £180, which is what SE fighter cost me - as opposed to £450 or more for a P910.
Your mileage may vary... |
