new user!
registered because my brother purchased an Orange pay monthly K700i and his firmware is R2L001 and his is absolutely perfect! This was in October.
He bought for me an Orange pay as you talk K700i for this Christmas, this is 2 months later, and it has R2C001.
I noticed that not only do Orange appear to put pay monthly customers way ahead of the pay as you talk customers, but I have been comparing the two for some time now, and I appear to be one of the lucky few people on the forum who has this chance to do so, and have noticed that the screen is considerably DARKER on the newer firmware, which may well explain for you why the battery life is so much further increased. I mean in contrast and in colour brightness it is far far worse. The only other difference I have spotted is that the Super Real Tennis and Darts java games are much newer versions on the new firmware, and run without the glitches of the older ones, however they are both 30kb larger than on the R2C firmware. |

I don't think they are new versions, I think it's because java implementation has been improved between firmware updates. The old firmware might indicate that it's a handset that took a long time to be sold? |
