i just got a new job working a mobile phone store again, most of the phones are import but with the correct software, the good thing is that we got all the colors of everyphone (they cost 20euro more).
so i got abit of phone freakiness back, but i also have a car thats costs me a lot of time and money.
right now i'm using a M600i & K510i & J100i
that K510i is sold. i'll probably get a Z520 for a few weeks theb give it to my mum as a xmas gift. meaning i'll buy another phone for my self as xmas gift, but haven't really found what i'm looking for yet.

"Post reply" is in rood doorgeschrapt.
Ik zou graag een vraag stellen in verband met de Mobile Tv bij Proximus.
Thanks, |

Hi Bart, nice to see you got a new job that apparently suits you.
By the way, can you tell me if I have to get a new sim or to register some place to use the 3G network from Proximus? And what about the price?
Thanks!

untill new year its free of charge.
you need to register for it and get the right settings, just call proximus helpdesk and they'll do the things that needs to be done.
but proximus 3G is very expencive.
if you are going to be online alot better go for base MAX data. its EDGE so slower, but much cheaper. (i know not many SE phones have EDGE).

I bought a P990i a couple of days ago and it's not from the Proximus collection.
Two problems are really disturbing me at the moment :
1) I can't make use of the Mobile TV. Each time I try to connect to any tv chanel from the Vodafone live site with my mobile I get a message like "could not connect to the link". I already called the technical service from Proximus through its customer service, and they say that as long as my phone isn't one from the Proximus collection I won't be able to access the Mobile TV... even though the P990i is in their phone catalogue.
Some people here and there confirm that it's possible to get access to the Mobile Tv with my phone by setting up the right parameters.
Don't ask me how I don't know.
For example, one of the seller at the Sony Ericsson store at Chaussée de Charleroi in Brussels said he has seen the Tv working on a P990i... and that was on the Proximus network, knowing that even the P990i appears on the phone catalogue of Proximus, no shop at this time can provide a P990i from the Proximus collection (real funny).
Ok, does anybody know how to fix this matter ?
2) Always with my P990i, I've set up all the parameters to access the web through my phone. But depending on the internet account used, I can open the Vodafone live web (wap) page or any other from the net, but not all of them at the same time.
Let me explain : one internet account has as address "wap.proximus.be", the other "internet.proximus.be". With the "wap" one I can open the Vodafone live page but not the other pages like google, yahoo,... etc. With the "internet" one I can open all the other pages but not the Vodafone live one.
The problem is that the device always selects one of the two accounts only in a session, not them both, with result that I can't browse all internet pages without going back to the settings of the phone to switch from internet account.
I have to say that I've never encountered that problem with my old P910i.
Can anyone advise what to do to fix this ?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Just in case you feel more comfortable in another language : you can also reply in French or Dutch.

Thanks Bart. Indeed, not many SE phones are EDGE capable. And certainly not my new z610.

Yes indeed it has, in my view, a very cool design.
OK I only have it for 2 weeks, so I can't say much except that I really love it. And it works up to my expectations, with an added bonus: a very good battery life between recharges (but I didn't use 3G up to now).
And it seems to be a bit more sensitive than my old z600.
Oh yes, playing mp3 music through my Jabra BT620s is a real treat, very very good sound quality indeed. Only problem lies with the BT620s: wearing the headset with a blue flashing ring on each side of your head makes you look like a complete nuts.
Camera, on the other end... nothing to do with the one of the k750, that's the least I can say!
One stupid thing though: why the hell is the right context button used to launch the menu? Doubling the function of the joystick for those who don't remember? OK I know that on branded phones, this button has a different use. But SE could have found something better when the phone is not branded.

Hello again, and thanks Bart for trying to help.
Today I called a Sony Ericsson center to ask if they could update my phone with the Vodafone software. They said that the've never done it before but if I bring my phone they'll probably able to do it.
After talking with people from SE I called the Proximus technical service but for my problem #2) above.
He tried to help me on the phone but as I was at work and had a meeting I asked him if he could call me back tomorrow with hopefully the solution. He said ok he'll call me around 2pm.
Before hanging off I asked him again about the mobile TV. And what he told me was exactly what people from SE also told me : Proximus has not made their Mobile Tv network ready for the P990i yet.
The guy confirmed that it's true that the Phone is on their catalogue as 3G but it can't access their Mobile Tv yet as thy still need to bring some adjustments to their network settings, not on the phone.
He said, if I'm able to open their Vodafone live page than there is nothing I should do to my phone but wait. Once they'll fix everything, I'll be able to open any chanels just like that.
And as I said, a guy from SE told me the same... it has nothing to do with the phone.
I've had so many different versions but now I will stick to this one I believe it's the most realistic. And coming from technicians from Proximus and SE... If I don't trust them, who should I trust than ???

the problem with proximus is that they are using nokia technology in their network. nokia is far from being the expert or market leader in networks. thats why a few months ago ericsson won a contract for mobile tv for proximus.
today the normal K800i finally got acces to mobile TV, a phone thats been very popular and out on the market for quite some time.
so in other words: the problem lies with proximus. just keep sending them e-mails. i'll do the same from my shop. hopefully they will see the presure and make work of it right away.
