That "Mall" sure has cool features but the last time I used it is when it was still free... or is it still free? I always thought of those things as profit generators for the telcos.

Bonits... you really have to call them everyday to check on your status. Ask them if they have notes in their computer to have your gprs activated. Ask them when it was made then ask them the date today. It goes without saying that you have to ask their name for future follow ups.

Thanks Chito! I've been calling them twice a week. The lousiest excuse was ' GPRS via WAP is still not commercially available , Sir'

Bonito, just tell them that you need gprs for mms and they will have it activated.

Most CS don't even know that you can use gprs for downloading not only wap sites but also html by using your phone as modem.

SUN CELLULAR
Digitel Mobile Phils., Inc.
11/F Robinson’s Galleria Tower
EDSA corner Ortigas Ave.
Quezon City

Attention : MS. MENCHIE BRIONES
AVP Customer Service

Subject : Mobile Number +63 922 8228x8x
Account Number 01177xxxxx

Gentlemen:

I have been a subscriber of Sun Cellular since your launch of March 31, 2003 and have brought up a lot of concerns regarding the implementation of your services. Please allow me to enumerate these which have not been addressed nor corrected since that time:

1. Subscriber’s Copy of the Service Agreement. Since the time of my application on March 31, 2003 until the present,. I have been promised by people from the Sun Shop Robinson’s Galleria (a certain Ms. Mabuti on April 1 and 2, a certain MJ who was preganant on May 27, 5:30 pm, a certain Michelle Lotimo on June 24, 12 noon) and by different CS representatives over the hotline (Neil and Sarah on May 27, 12 noon, MJ on May 30, 10:50am, Neims on June 3, 10:30am, Red on July 1, 11:15 am, Christine and Kelly on July 9, 11:20am, Christine and Germaine on July 24, 8am) that a copy would be sent to me. I have been told that the head office has the copy and a follow up would be done. It will be close to 4 months now since my initial request and I have not received a copy yet.

2. Overcharging of the Cost of Unit. I was surprised when I received my bill # 1 (Exhibit 1) when I was being billed Php 3,500 (Php 3,181.82 + 10% VAT) for the cost of the Nokia 3530 for a 24 month new subscription when in fact your promo materials at that time indicated that the Nokia 3530 price for the same plan was only Php 2,500. My receipt for my advance payment likewise indicated such an amount (Exhibit 3). I have also attached your price list during that time (Exhibit 4) and a copy of a newspaper ad which appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer (Exhibit 5) for your reference and information.

3. International SMS not being included in the free SMS allocation. In my bill # 3 (Exhibit 2), international SMS was not included in the free allocation of SMS despite the announcements from your promo materials (Exhibit 6 which indicated FREE SMS with no distinction on local or international but gives rates on local and international SMS IN EXCESS OF FREE SMS) and Rate Charts (Exhibit 7 which again makes no distinction between local and international SMS in the Free Text Allocation but gives distinction to rates in Excess of Free Text). Your Webpage (Exhibit 8, http://www.suncellular.com.ph/sunshop/postpaidplans.html) even notes that “Free SMS includes Sun to Sun or Sun to other mobiles” and again makes no distinction between local and international SMS. If indeed international SMS would be charged seperately from free SMS, then a public announcement should be made to clear this matter and all charges prior to the announcement should be reversed.

4. Undelivered and Late Statement of Accounts. I have not received my Bill #2 Statement date April 17 – May 16 2003 despite my constant follow-up. It also fumes me that my request to furnish me a detailed fax copy could not be accommodated as well. My Bill # 3 (Exhibit 2) arrived in the afternoon of July 23, 2003 with a due date of July 16, 2003. I cannot settle my bill unless I have detailed billing statements.

I fully understand that Sun Cellular is the newest player in the mobile telecom industry and that much can still be desired for. However, I believe that these are public concerns which, if not addressed, could cause a major consumer problem and eventually a lack of public interest in your company.

I would appreciate that such amends be done for the benefit of Sun Cellular while the problem is still in its infancy. You can contact me through the numbers above or through my mobile phones 0922.8228x8x and 0917.8178x8x for any developments

Sincerely,

Damian Luis B. Reyes

@ dlreyes, Im in the exact predicament as yours (with regards to billing etc.), According to them their plans are CONSUMABLE yet ang laki ng charges ko sa txt and only those txt messages to a fellow sun subscriber (isa lang ata) were treated as free! Are they deliberately decieving us or what? The 2nd bill that I recieved where so late that I could not pay on time! Please post their reply as soon as you have recieved it..thanks a lot bro! For their sake I hope they don't ignore the letter you sent them...
