Based on that infographic from Sony, I do not think that ND filter is possible on phones ATM, they're too bulky 
Anyway, hope Sony can surprise us. |

Who knows? Nothing is impossible.
Bionz and X1 are hardware, but software for xperia.
Maybe they have ways to emulate it by software. |

Most likely the bionz hardware on other devices is also an algorithm run on a dedicated chip. One can port the algorithm to other devices to run on the SoC.

When I first saw the hint I thought it would be an external accessory. Also I remember the OnePlus concept that blackened the camera glass and hid the lenses.
The hint also had the video camera icon, so it's for video only probably. This means it's not always in place.
I guess we won't know until they make it.
I think Sony could up the segment of 10 ($450) and leave the L5 in its place. All of 10's competitors 4a, SE have more advanced memory. And while realme phones at 200 250 dollars can offer UFS it's just unacceptable for Sony to release 10 with emmc yet again.
They can really sell a lot if they can get it right. Specs are everything in mid segment. |

Trade offs.
You can have better screen, stronger glass, better sound, IP rating and the 52mm camera (even crappy one).
Or have SD7xx, weaker glass or plastic, faster storage, more RAM and macro/depth camera.
Using cameras worse than 2016 xperia and storage from 2016, helped Sony to earn more money.
L series notched makes me think if that phone is ODM or not.
It is so ugly.
Every 2 years they change cpu.

Their average selling price was quite high. This must mean they sell more and newer flagships than midrangers.
Anyway. Even if they put 7xx it probably won't perform as good as a 4xx xiaomi. Sony cripples mid range to push people into high end.
There wasn't hype even here. I'm not expecting an announcement this month. If 10iii arrives early they might do a press release instead of multiple presentations. Not that they mentioned midrange very much in the past. |

I don't think Snapdragon can do what the fusion processor in the XZ2P did. It would be nice to combine three signals especially for higher focal lengths in video but would be cool to utilize only for stills too, maybe "crop outside frame" from Apple can be copied.
SD690 is not too far from 765 in terms of CPU power. And given Sony doesn't even do mmWave in flagships, it kinda makes sense.
Galaxy A52 is leaked and seems like a good match for 10iii. It even has hfr screen at 450 euros. If (for 10iii) triple 12MP+OIS and UFS is true, that is.
Looks like Xperia US announced an event on the 28th. But with PRO in the image, guess it's not for new devices tagline being "be alpha."

It is not image fusion.
I think it saves three videos, each of different focal length.
This can be great for Cinema Pro.
This way you do not need to start new project when you want to change cameras.
