Now these are nice, I can't really find a fault in these images. Finally a good quality product from Sony. |

nice pics..
daylight is solid as usual. night time photo could be improved, but i think just by taking the picture at a lower resolution will drastically improve the photo. still better than before. good job sony!
5 weeks to go?
i like how they chase the poor little pigeon just to make it fly and capture a super slo mo vid ha.
vs. the leica.. the xz premium wins hands down in every matchup. a lot less noise in low light photos vs the leica for sure.

IMO both are good. You can see in some picture P10 Plus took more lively photo.
Also I can see blurry issues in this device again.
Very strange -_-
P.S. ah after checking it properly seem like it's a wind blow

Sony's SteadyShot with IA is the best in the industry. for those who say it lacks OIS needs to give their head a wobble and watch any comparison there is an the Sony will win hands down.

Once again... OIS is for photos, EIS is for video. The thing with EIS is that the same can be done for any video without any stabilization, you just need a proper software and you will get same result (or very close) as it would be shot with EIS.
OIS on the other hand is helping with the image quality before any software is used to bump up the quality/stabilization.
So it's obvious that it is always better to have an OIS. Of course it's nice to have a good EIS in the phone so you don't actually need to use any software (most of which are pretty expensive). Best solution is OIS + EIS, and Sony is lacking such. |

admad is correct. however, if good EIS is easy to do, then samsung and others with their OIS should be comparable to sony's video stabilization, but they always fall short. Sony's video stabilization, even with just EIS, outperforms others with OIS. Not sure if anybody does OIS+EIS combo for their videos out there, but i have yet to see anyone best sony in the video stabilization arena.
OIS would definitely help sony in the low light photography. That's for sure. It's a shame they didn't include it just for the premium model and give that OIS+EIS combo especially since everyone knows their EIS is top notch.
That being said, with a few photographer's tricks to help stabilize yourself when taking low light photography, you can minimize camera shake (e.g., leaning against something, keeping your arms close against your body, etc. ). I would have loved to see OIS in the XZP. but It's not a deal breaker for me.

my eyes think the xzp wins. better colors without being overblown. sharpness and clarity is very similar.

In my opinion, the iPhone 7 wins in most areas
The Xperia XZ Premium has inherited the typical Sony image style.

what style is that? i think xzp has better colors.. iphone seems a bit washed out in some photos and overbrightened. but hey, as they said, they can't confirm settings were the same either.

Better details on the xzp at the expense of noise while Apple iphone trumps with cleaner shot
The xzp also catches more colors.
But to be honest, there is too much chromatic noise on the xzp that it's as if the shots were taken with higher iso (at least compared to my Z2.)
