That would have been my opinion of the cameras.
I know we have a lot of Sony fans on the forum, but I really do not get whats going on with Sony and their Z series cameras. They always look so terrible, lack any detail, over processed etc. Yet they seem to have better hardware - just crap software. It must be to simply to seem nicer to the untrained eye of johnny public.

umm, isn't the iphone 6 and 6+ supposedly using a Sony camera sensor?

Yes... The iPhone since version 5s uses sensor CMOS BSI SONY EXMOR RS ISX014... As the Note 4 which also uses a Sony sensor (IMX240), but good hardware is useless without a good software, the Japanese Sony manufactures great image sensors, but they are amateurs in the photographic processing post !!!

No they are not amertuers they may not have perfected their imaging in mobiles yet but their top digital cameras are fantastic

This forum discusses about digital cameras or mobile phones ? Answer: Mobile Phones !
So when I say that they are amateurs compared to Apple, Samsung and mainly Nokia in photographic processing post mean the cameras present in mobile phones... To me it seemed obvious, but now that I drew you understand my point of view ???
P.S: At no time did I or anyone here spoke of dedicated digital cameras

In no time this article said that the image sensors of the new iPhones are made by Samsung, but that these new sensors use the same technology as Samsung sensors !
As both iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus use image sensors manufactured by SONY !!! |

I wasn't having a pop at you I mearly said Sony are not amertuers they have great digital cameras but haven't quite perfected their mobiles yet?? What's wrong with that comment?? Nothing. I did speak of Sony mobiles but also mentioned their digital cameras since when did you make the rules around here we can discuss all sorts of topics when it comes to comparing phones and cameras for God sake chill out. I never said you mentioned digital cameras I MENTIONED THEM please read my post before lashing out

yup, I guess I was correct in my first assumption, sorry about that article... thought it was by samsung. You're right, same tech, not same sensor maker..
anyway... the reason I posted about the sensors is that, if its good enough to come in at 2nd place (the iphone), then it cant be all that bad. Im already impressed by the camera in the S5... the note 4's must really be good.

You know what, I'm done.
First calling idiots those who buy waterproof phones (the same was said earlier about people buying every new iphone) and now shouting at others for what you don't like. Bonovox was right saying that Sony is no amateur when it comes to image postprocessing, by some there are even considered the best compared to Canon, Nikon and surprise even Samsung. What does that prove? That all those companies have different approach to their mobile photography.
You can call me a fanboy, anti-Samsung or whatever but I wasn't the one calling other idiots cause they bought an iPhone or waterproof phone!

The G3 has a very good camera, gsmarena said it's great and other sites say it's better than the S5 so I was surprised by this, although it's only a blind comparison, doesn't mean much.
The laser auto focus is great and a dual LED is always much better than the single ones, I'm surprised Samsung and Sony continue with single flashes seeing as Apple, LG and HTC use dual ones.
