What a format of dictophone recording? Is it AMR or AAC?
Well for Video Recording it appears to be AAC so I'm hoping its the same as AMR is really bad quality.

My tip is turn off call waiting.
I had a mind-numbingly embarrassing incident today where I was having a bit of a lovey dovey chat with my boyfriend, and I got a call through from a potential employer.
Call waiting was switched on...the touch sensitive screen brushed against my face.....can everyone see where the story is going???
we presume you got offered the job on the spot?
LOL, I did actually.
I just ended up saying something like, oh crap, this a bit like Mean Girls and they said they would email me the details of the job! |

anyone else having problems playing wmv's ? have transferred a couple now and just get an error message saying cannot play this video.......obviously a software / firmware issue...but annoying until it gets sorted. the White paper for the phone clearly states it plays wmvs.
unless it has to be a specific kind of encoding / coded....
any thoughts? |

Hi
i,m asking my question for the 3rd time.
can anyone confirm 30fps video recording with k850?
please.... as i can see there are many people here that have the k850.
i know that it is officialy stated that it's capable of 30fps, but the samples on the web are bad quality 15fps taken with prototype units.
i just want to know if this has been fixed in the release version of the firmware or not ?
thanks. |

Sorry dude, I meant to check one or two videos I've taken and answer your question last night but I fell asleep next to my computer and didn't get a chance to check till this morning. To answer your question, yes the video I took just a few days ago came out with 29.412 fps and 384 kbps @ 320 x 240, codec mp4 v2. I hope that answers your questions.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

sory to disturbe again... but.
relating to my earlier post about k850 30fps video recording;
as ricky d said the bitrate is 384Kbps; but with that bit rate it is only possible to record 15fps qvga.(my p990's recording is at 384Kbps too as well as P1 and W960)
after analyzing one of those old video samples on the web and extracting each frame from it... that was alright; it was 30 fps. but the visual appearence was still 15fps. and the reason: each 2 frames in the video are the same (exactly the same; i viewed them in a hex editor)!!! i was shocked !!!
now again; anyone can VISUALLY confirm 30fps.?????? (for example; like the W900's recording) |

how do you change the iso settings?
I went onto the iso option and there was no tick or anything like that?

It depends wich other pre-settings you might use at the moment. For instance- if you have "night portrait" i think that you are not able to change the ISO settings. But if you have auto mode on you will be able to fiddle with the ISO settings. Hopes this helpes

Movie FPS: 29.22
Data Rate: 376.12 kbits/sec

i know that!!
30fps video is not only determined by the frame count of the video.(for example you can make a 30fps video just by 10 to 20 frames per second but the output is choppy an not smooth moving.)
and the reason the video being at 30fps with 384Kbps is for mpeg4 coding process that is based on the frames pixel changes. when you have 15 frames in a second then it has no differences for the mpeg4 codec wether you video is 30fps or 60fps. both will have the same file size.
and the reason that i asked someone to VISUALLY confirm that is because that 30fps video is quite distinguishable by eye comparing to the choppy 15fps.
record some seconds of video of a moving object like your hand with your K850 and then view on the phone itself.
now is that 30fps or not? (i mean it's smoothness is like the picture you see on the tv screen or not?)?? very simple .... no need to view on a computer.!

no offence chombos1 but wouldnt it just be easier for you to go into a store and test this for yourself with a k850?
i tried your simple test and it was smooth so if that makes it 15 or 30 fps idont know as i NEVER use video on my phones.

Yeah, you are starting to get annoying. The guys told you it's 30fps. Even I once saw a video the K850 made. It was deffo 30fps. |
