My friends who own E61(i) mainly complain about the new Nokia Internet browser. On my E50, after half an hour browsing & with 3 pages open, the free mem is shown as 1.6MB!
I think Nok 6290 is a gud option. It runs Symb 9.2 on a speedy 369Mhz cpu n with oodles of RAM. Stereo loudspeakers comes as a bonus!
My fon: Motorola MPX200 (running WindowsMobile 5.0), 512MB RS-MMC, Motorola E398 headset, modified Nokia BL-6C battery!! |

Well, my E61i arrived today.... happy chappy!
I couldn't believe how thin and light the phone was - as well as the impressive screen - very sharp graphics etc.
I had been using a Treo 750v for a few weeks, and there's just no comparison. Will be recommending the E61i as an remote email tool at my workplace now for sure and certain!!
Now - back to it....... |

@Paddy Fowler,
Welcome to the wonderful world of the E series, i must confess like you i also have found my E61 to be really thin and light but also with incredible build quality and also really don't get all these comments of it being so big to me it is a perfect size for what it does and the screen is just amazeing hope enjoy it.

Thanks Guys!
Yep, happy to be now living in the E61'ers world
Magg - yep, the wizard set everything up for me - of course this was after i chose to ignore the tutorial (with pure excitement) the first time, then i couldn't browse the web and was thinking of phoning vodafone.
Remembered your wise words then - and went back in and found the "Settings Wizard" which had me good to go in jig time.
Really am impressed with the overall quality of the phone - appears very rugged even though it's so thin and frail looking!
Anyone use it with Good Messaging Installed on it? |

Talk about "rugged", Paddy... I left mine on the roof of my car a couple of months ago (I know, cringe...): when I breaked to stick my parking ticket in the machine, the phone overtook my car all I had to do was reinsert the memory-card! No other probs! (ok, the krusell case helped, but still!! It's one tuff phone!)

Hi Paddy,
There are a couple of really good free messaging apps the first i would recommend is Fring which gives you Skype, Google, MSN both IM and VOIP and they are adding services and improving the app constantly this can be found @www.fring.com/.
Also just released is Windows Live Messenger for some S60 devices and it works on my E61 so should work on the E61i this brings Windows Live desktop experience to your device and also gives you MSN.com/Hotmail e-mail synced with your device the link for this is
http://dshandberg.net/blog/20[....]ve-suite-for-your-nokia-phone/
I would also recommend looking at a good Task Manager to aid the smooth running of your device my personal favourite is Handy Taskman. Depending on what you want to do there are a wealth of both free and paid for apps many of these come direct from Nokia and should enable you to achieve most of the things you want to do. If you have any problems finding anything just ask and some one should have an answer for you.

Sorry for my absense.....I have a few questions to ask. Is there any difference with the screen between E61 and E61i? Nokias website doesnt specify. Secondly, how good is the build quality of the E61? Does it get scratches, screen scratches, dirt easily? Third, is the E61 more stable when multitasking than the E65? Lastly, i heard a beautiful ringtone called rondo capricio on a nokia 2600 that i like. Is there anyway to get it? I'd like my next E61 to have it.

Hi bickit
Nice to see you back, personally i think the E61 has exceptional build quality and mine is still mint. I think the E61i screen is meant to be even better than the E61 but can't quite imagine how as the E61 is excellent IMO.
Can't say anything about the E65 as never seen one in the flesh but either E61 or E61i you can't really go wrong by IMO as both are excellent devices.
As for Multi tasking well that really depends on how hard you are going to push it you start with apaprox 24mb ram and usually have well over 20mb most of the time after closing apps. I'm sure you can run out but if you use a Task Manager and a bit of work it really shouldn't throw up any problems IMO.
No idea what you are talking about with the ring tone so can't help you there.

Hi Boba,,
i think nothing can match the internal screen of the E90 and the outside screen isn't bad either.
Just have to wait for Mr postman to arrive tomorrow which unfortunately here isn't till about 11:30am although maybe it will come Special delivery and earlier.
