photos is bad from this phone, i figured the phone has implied some sort of post-prodution software filter on the photos to mask/smooth out the noise condition, especially for low light conditions. Almost all photos (objects with fine details, eg. hair on my Chihuahua, concrete texture of roads has been smoothed out) look fake.... BAD BAD BAD. I don't think it deserve to be called a Cyber-Shot product, I used to use noise-reduction software (Noiseware Community Edition: http://www.imagenomic.com) on my K750i photos which helped to make my 750's photos a whole lot better by smoothing out the noise in most conditions, so i can see the resemblence of the noise-reduction software effect, only the K800i built in software is not configurable and a lot worse. Sonyericsson is just trying to cheat and deceive us by using this cheap method and call its product a Cyber-Shot.... BAD BAD BAD

boompang, it's because You used xenon flash. Which seems to be bugged at high ISO level (400). Use document mode, when You take close up flash photos. This should help.

man, even with bestpic, you still have to react pretty fast to capture lightning.

its not only because of the xenon flash, when you observe all photos taken by the K800, you'll see the post-production software filter smoothing out the photo to hide its noise (less noticible in bright light condition). The camera module hasn't actually improve much from the K750i.

They do need to work on the post-image processing as it can spoil photos in relatively low light. I'd rather have the option of filtering an image later than trying to sharpen something that has been overly softened.

The flash is also a problem at times. If it decides to use the flash, it won't adjust the intensity (can it do this?) and instead of providing some fill-in, you end up with a face that looks totally overexposed and a background that has disappeared. If it's quite light, it's ridiculous to lose the background completely!

Most problems occur when you use the automatic mode, however. Take time to learn the other modes and you can eliminate many of these quirks. Bring on the new firmware!

looks like the real problem is focus, you focused on your wrist watch, your fingers are just as blurred as the dog. did you focus it then move a little bit?

whenever i take a picture indoors of a person how come the result always seems so harsh and people always looks like crap. Like someone said earlier i seem to lose loads of colour on the persons face and lose the background too, why is this.

If you go here:

http://themarketsquare.blogspot.com/

If posted some pics taken at Madonna's gig in Cardiff on Sunday...

I'm really impressed how good the lowlight shots are compared to the K750i...
