There is really no matter of warranty,you dont loose anything if you just flash your phone with the latest firmware only,Im not talking about debranding-of course there is an issue of warranty.

warranty is only for generic fw, wotanserver isnt a generic one, in case of any bug later se will say, that it was caused cos of it

All SE phones are covered with 2 years warranty,branded & unbranded,the fact of having updated a phone with Wotan isnt tracable,so once again I say there is NO ISSUE AT ALL !

i was told something else at se, nokia and motorola services... i highly doubt, that for example a v630 falshed with generic fw ( k610 )is still under warranty.

I did update a K610(R1BC001) to K610(R1ED001),this is very simple to be understood and I did not update a V630 to K610 or whatever,of course in this case every SE service point would make any warranty invoid,but with a plain FIRMWARE UPDATE USING THE SAME FIRMWARE'S NEW VERSION FROM WOTANSERVER everything stays as is.Finally if you dont want to understand this then Im sorry a lot,but its really simple........

1. i didnt wrote that u updated v630 to k610 ( it ws an example )
2. wotanserver, davinci etc dont offer generic fw
trust me, give a call to se, nokia whoever and ask them, if u buy a fone and flash it a non-generic fw, do u have still warranty or not?

1.I know it was an example.
2.R1ED001 is generic fw for my region_MEDITERR and is from Wotanserver.
I think you should tune in my frequenzy,really,otherwise you ain gonna catch the waves..........GENERIC R1ED001 FIRMWARE FROM WOTANSERVER.....

just for secure i called my service friend, he told me, that even it seems to be a generic one, its not the "original" one and in the service, they can recognize, if it was flashed via seus or any other server, so at the end of the day, the warranty is over. operators, just like insurance companies, are very precise at checking the bug ( actually the starter of the bug )before they are willing to offer a replacement or give money back, so they just have to say, look, u flashed it on your own, not with seus, sorry... so the best way is to use seus to avoit any tiny problem later on.

Having put it this way conclusively I agree with you,SEUS is surely better to flash SE phones but I got anxious and this is why I did use Wotan for my K610,in any case I will reflash it with SEUS once it appears(hopefully soon)and that leads us to the end of offtopics in this thread.

Does SE have these fw's available on their site? By the way, to Bob... I tried charging by batt while the phone is off and the keypad backlight did not blink.. are you a reseller of these fones? I just thought you mentioned once that you have 'one' which's having this bug. If I cannot have the latest fw from WOT, is there a way that I can flash my fw with the original one? Where can I get it? |

With regards to the joypad layout of the K610i, i think it's a little on the small side. I'm finding that my thumb goes all over it!
