Maelstrom, thanx sharing!

yeah, since someone mentioned the K600i, I was also contemplating this model as well since it's 3G enabled. And the price is not too far from K750i. Any comments?

Good phone, pretty much same as the K750i except it has 3G, no memory card slot and the same 1.3mp camera as the Z800i.

Its a compromise if you want 3G, you lose some of the K750i features.

Well, I guess most of the guys have covered all the great improvements.
On a practical note though, if you upgrade now, you probably can trade in or sell your K700i for a decent price still.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed somewhere in Esate before but I'm not sure how I should word my search. Anyway, I hope someone here can help answer my questions on the K750i:
1) When I search for a name in the phonebook, can I type more than 1 alphabet eg. to look for John, can I type "John"? Or does it jump straight to names starting with "O" on my second alphabet input?

2) Can I activate speaker phone directly when there's an incoming call, or do I have to answer the call, then only activate speaker phone? How aboue outgoing calls?

3) How does it work with bluetooth headsets? Connected all the time (like K700i) or connect only when calls are being made (like T610)?

4) Does voice answering work for the the K750i? It used to work on my T610 but not on my K700i.

Thanx in advance!!

Don't do it.

I took my K750i back and went for the K700i and with the left over money bought an iPod! [addsig]

The K700i is still a feature packed phone and i don't think it's worth upgrading basically just for the camera since they both still have the same sort of features. It's worth waiting for a better phone and maybe wait for the 3 mega-pixels phones when they come out. Up to you though.
Laptops, Ipods, Mobiles, PC's, Plasma TV's....... 90% OFF their RRP prices !! eg. Samsung D600 for £40 !....... Look here for more info : http://freeipod4u.be

Greetings neighbour! I'll try to answer what I can.

1) Since you are in Malaysia, it is likely that will end up with the China firmware release (like in Singapore). This firmware currently does not support multi-character phonebook search. The European ones do I think.

2) I think speaker phone is only activated after the call is taken or made. I have been trying to find this function since my K700i days. If anyone knows a shortcut, please post!

3) I don't really know the difference since this is the 1st time I am using a BT headset on a phone. I think it's connected all the time, as the BT icon on the phone shows a headset, and when the phone rings, the BT headset immediately rings too.

4) Sorry, can't help on that. Never tried it.

Overall very pleased with the phone though. Good battery life, great camera, faster and better interface (even though similar to the K700i but some minor changes make the difference), memory expansion, less buggy, ability to do own firmware update, bigger message storage space, good screen, etc.

Well worth the upgrade.

Hi Mrbinks, thanx for sharing the info! It's a shame that the multicharacter phonebook search is still not available... Imagine searching for a name in a LARGE phonebook...

No one mentioned that a good reason NOT to upgrade to a K750 is because it's not half as good looking at the K700.

talking about looks, I prefer the K750i actually. Yup, 2 sets, one for myself and one for my wife!

Guys, what is the first thing I should do? I'm in Malaysia, so which firmware should be the latest one? And if it's not the latest, how do I upgrade the firmware? Will be getting the sets after work today...

I agree that the front of the K750 looks quite nice, but the back is quite unresolved in my opinion. I have both side by side in my hands. The plastic corrigations and movable lens protector of the K750 doesn't compare to the smooth and cool feel of the K700's rear metal like panel. The tactility just sucks. And this is what you are doing most of the time with you handset, holding in in your hand!
