Still a decent deal that mate!!

My bill avaerages about £28.50 per month so that must have made the difference....

Phone was picked up by DHL today even though I was told there was a 3 week wait.

Hopefully I'll get mine on Monday and you'll have yours on Tuesday!

yehh i guess so! how do you know that your phone was picked up by DHL today - were you given a tracking number or something? They said 7-14days to me! If it comes on tuesday, that will be fantastic!

Yeah, recieved a 0242 starting tracking number and then you can track it through DHL. No doubt you will get an email today at some point to the same effect

If you've just upgraded, would there be any point trying to cancel and get a better deal?

I've got a decent upgrade but it's pants compared to the rest of you. This was a month ago, so I think I've missed the boat!

bumfilter: I very much doubt o2 would change your tariff in any way because they don't have to offer you anything for you to stay with them - you already have to stay with them for the 12 months of your contract or pay off the rest of your 12 months line rental if you want to cancel your contract

david1975: I think that tariff is actually 400mins and 1000text for £45 however it is doubled for first 6 months or something. They offered 400mins and 1000text for £30 a month so a £15 line rental reduction.

after reading the forum, i called O2 to get my long over due upgrade. (Feb 2005)

ive been with O2 for ages an i get 20% my line rental (some loyalty reward thing)

i enquired back in Feb about the loyality reward and i was told if i change tariff i would lose that reward, so i didnt bother upgrading as i was happy with my tariff (that the missus uses) Net 100.

Anyway yesterday i called them saying i would like to upgrade to the k750i, he then said to me £139.99. Errr i thought, i said why is it sao much? ive been offered a traiff on "3" 500mins and 500 texts or £15.

he then went to "have a word" with his manager and offered me:

500 xnet mins and the K750i for £79.99, for £15 per month. Which works out as 20% line rental and £5 off per month. (from £25 to £15)

bearing in mind my avg bill never went above the line rental as all my missus uses is the inclusive minutes (100mins then), so my bill avg at £16 lol.

anyway i think im semi happy, although its not as good as some of you guys, but i wanted the line rental to be £15 and have at least 500mins xnet which im happy with.

The number i called was: Upgrades/Disconnections/Retentions line ( 0800 0288151 ) the same guy offered me the new tariff, he called it "Discount 500"

thanks to the original poster for the info.

they had stock aswell and it should be with me within 3-5 working days.

been a Nokia 6230 user for age s and now im come backto SE, lets hope it was the right move!

Hi biggy,

I'm so glad that the thread I started has helpped you out, I think that although you had to pay £79.99 for your handset it is still not a bad deal (as the misses will be able to talk to her hearts content!!!).

I think that as you mentioned, due to your avaerage monthly bill being £16 per month this is why they have done this. My last bill was a one off but came to £110!!!! (I went green for days!!) due to me being in Istandbul for the Liverpool game and everyone who I knew kept texting me after the match! So that drove my average bill up!

Anyway, threads like these can become very useful. I've recieved so much help from so many people on this forum, so I'm happy that I've been able to give a little back

yea biggy, that is a pretty good deal - I think it really does depend on monthly line rental! Thanks for that 0800 number btw, I called an 0870 number for 30 mins yday!

I still have not received a tracking number - just called them up and they said they havent got a tracking number for me. They said the phone will still take 10-14 days so maybe call again in a week and they might have a tracking number for me. Hmm...she really didnt have a clue!

in my experience, if you were to call up again, i reckon you will get another story hehe

the O2 staff are quite slack at giving the same info, each person has their own story.

but in the past, ive never had a tracking number when upgrading, nor did the guy give me one yesterday, i am just hoping it arrives with no faults.

When i called 2 days ago, a chap told me to call back in 2 weeks, he didnt even check on his system if the phone was in stock or not, it wa slike he didnt want to sell it me.
