You need to turn the phone off and then on again, after the SIM update for it to work properly, something about the GPRS registration process.

Does your mms upgrade work on an offline handset? Is the pseudo-techno-babble that the tubbies spout on 156 about compatibility actually bobbins? |

I found a page about the 277 alerts, but nothing about being free. All you need to do is record the 277 call in Sound Recorder when the voice says "these messages are free for a promotional period" |

The world is against me. Just spoken to Orange who say that MMS can not be used with there pay as you go service. My other sim card is an O2 monthly contract and they have not even got a clue when they will offer the service. For now MMS is just a distant dream

I have an upgraded to (i) and unlocked t68. When I spoke to Orange today about MMS, they mentioned the update to MMS capability could take up to 78HRS. 1HR went by-a simupdate was received...read, deleted and switched off/on my phone. Input the MMS settings I noted after calling 156 option 5 to obtain them and viola...sent my first mms to my email address. The email program displayed the MMS image as two attachments? The image and a file with the ext .smil.
BUT,
If I send an MMS to a none MMS compatible MMS fone (like the 3210 for example) or across a different network, a message from the Network is sent instead of the MMS.
The Example SMS below is the result of a mms sent to me from someone on t-mobile-D (Germany) to a Nokia 6310i
Example SMS:
____________________________
U got a picture message! View at: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/pmcollect Msg ID:*****Password:*****From: +49***********
Message will expire in:30 Days

I went their done that and viewed the MMS image COOL
So although MMs might be xpensive, anyone can receive one as long as they have internet access. Which could explain why GPRS is illegal in some countries?

in Australia they're only 75c, (32US/Euro cents), but unfortunately you cant send across networks. All our networks have has MMS for about a month.
Is that the same in the UK/Europe?
