I've finally got my remote control working, i hunted down the drivers (on a cd that i got with teh bluetooth adapter) that have been in my bag for months that i forgot about
But anyway, the software installed all the facilities necessary and now remote control, works a dream..... although it does affect my wireless lan as well as my aerial connection.
Cheers guys for the assistance, muchly appreciated! |

if you are running XP and have updated to SP2 its a known issue that Microsoft have screwed around with the bluetooth stack and generally have crippled it. SP1 bluetooth was fantastic, never any problems, BT serial port worked great for FMA etc. But now in SP2 its crap really, you cant browse the phones contents etc, not sure on remote as i gave up on it.
Check on the manufacturers webstie as they may most likely will have updates for SP2 drivers.
Its a shame MS decided to mess around with bluetooth, sure its a bit more secure these days but its lost 90% of (IMO) functionality and ease of use.

The drivers I am using are Widcomm 1.4.1.3
They came with my bluetooth device.
I can now start the connection from the PC and from the phone without any problems.

The driver version is 4.0.1.700. Don't ask me what the numbers mean.

Hi
I've jsut got a new k750i in Singapore and have trouble figuring out how to use the remote control feature as well. I am using a Sony VAIO S38GP laptop and the K750 does not seem to work. Rest of the Bluetooth function works fine but when i try to connect the "Presenter" it just doesn't connect at all
I understand that the laptop should be HID compatible apparently the think the SOny VAIO must be but which i'm not really too sure about?
Anybody got any info on how to use this function?
The other irritants that I have on the K750i are
1) Can I use to find a contact by keying in the first 3 letters of the name for example. On the K750 If I have to find a name I can only go to the top of the alphabet list and then have to scroll down all the way to the bottom of "S: if I need to find a name called Suzie. Is there any other easier way to find names like how it used to be in the old T68i etc.,
2) How can I silence the shutter click every time I take a photo. It is very embarassing and annoying.

Thanks Bolo for your links.
But it's terrible that SE doesn't supply working software! |

I finally got this working using the WIDCOMM drivers.
I absolutely love this feature - I can have my laptop playing through my hifi speakers and control volume/track etc from pretty much anywhere in my house

Hey,
just a thought, but have you guys set up a separate serial connection specifying virtual ports in the device manager, that seemed to get round the similar problem i had.
if your using the widcom software it should be easy enough to do.
also, the media player control that came on the phone doesn't seem to run itunes...
does anyone know a decent remote i can download?
