K750i camera compared with other camera phones |

im not a nokia fan. i was just giving my opinion about the image qualities of the n90 & k750i. Millions and Millions of nokia phones are sold every year by millions of consumers. They can't be all wrong. We have to admit that Nokia is really a threat to SE's sales and vice versa. And it doesn't mean that this forum is exclusive to people who are not open-minded. I can't find it anywhere on this site |

People can find me biased to SE itīs natural, but iīm also a photography addict and have some knowledge about the subject - my opinion is n90 photos arenīt much better than k750īs...thereīs some photos where k750 looked a bit worse than n90 because eldar didnīt changed the white balance for getting right colors, or he didnīt use the right distance for macro shot (n90 permits focusing closer)...but, k750īs photos thread says all - look to macros made there, and compare to macros from n90
Insisting s700 is a better camera than k750 is rubish...the simple fact it doesnīt have macro and autofocus putīs it behing, no doubt at all...and the photos show the difference

And im not a SE fan. Well, ok i do love SE but i also love Nokia. Both companies make great phones IMO.
However, we all know that of all those millions of Nokia customers probably 99% of them never even contemplate buying another manufacturers phones. They automatically choose Nokia whenever they believe it is the time to upgrade. I should know, i was once one of them until i took a risk and bought a T610.
My opinion however is heavily with SE on this. To this day, since the N90 was first announced and from all the pictures ive seen taken with the phone,none of them impress me. Every N90 picture ive seen so far have been poor when compared to the S700i, not even mentioning the K750i.
They're far more pixelated, the colours are pale with no vibrance and generally have a blue tint. The white balance is rather iffy too.
Ive also been watching the videos posted on M-R.com. The videos were all about 2mb per 30 seconds, thats 4mb per minute ! without a massive capacity mmc card or hard drive Mario's idea of the N90 being a camcorder replacement are quite misguided.

Hey buddy. Thanks for the info. The video looks good to me and with a 512MB card I should be able to record up to 2h. :-) Now do you know when is the thing coming out ? Thanks again.Greetings from South Africa. Mario

Thats not bad, 2 hours per 512mb MMC card, but if you really intend to use it as a camcorder you'd probably want a much bigger MMC.
Its out around July in the UK, in SA im not so sure.
Has it been announced yet in SA ?

perhaps we should take into account with the n90 that its probably not running its final release firmware, i seem to remember everytime weve seen se camera phones with crap pics thats the excuse thats always thrown up so maybe it the case here
i would still take the k750 over the n90 as the camera is such a small factor when buying a phone for me |

I don't know buddy.I won't buy it in SA anyway.Most of my stuff I buy while I go 'home' in Nuernberg,Germany.Or I have my brother send it over here if I want something quick.He will come visit in 2 months anyway for a game hunt in Luangwa valley in Zambia :-)

And talking about the picture quality. I think the N90 does't have only a better lens system but also a better sensor ! CCD versus CMOS . Actually I am pretty sure of this,althou in a few moths we should see K750's with a 'decent' sensor too :-)

N90 has a CMOS sensor just like K750i and what do you mean about K750i getting a decent sensor do you refer to MR inside tip on that K750 will get updated to CCD? That would surely put N90 behind if its true . |

@greysler
I agree the K750 pictures used in mobile-review to compare with N90 were not good. But have you realy looked at those posted in this and mobile-review forum for instance ? If you had, you would have realised how good K750 pictures can get and that without CZ lens and for the half price of N90 and much better battery performance.
Concidering the size, weight and price of N90, I don't think it will affect the sales of K750 by much.

There is apperently billion of flies out there that think sh*it is tasty. They can't be wrong either or could they ?
@mario2002
Most S60 apps out there will not work with N90 due to the size and resolution of the screen. Eldar at mobile-review has already tested it.

k750 with CCD... hmmm.... yeap... that would certainly ridicule the N90...
as for the N90. seriously u gotta be really dumb to buy such a thing
with the same money u can get a Sony DSC-T33... which is a very compact 5megapixel digital camera that takes amazing video clips: 640*480 at 30fps. !!!!
and u also have money left to buy a small and useful SE phone. eg. k500 !!! |

well i happen to be a SE fan although i never underestimate nokia cuz they make excelent fones
however when looking these photos the k750 looks a little blue compared to the n90 and although k750 makes amazing photos it seems to me that the pic from the nokia n90 is better
and just a little off topic does someone happen to know in which country this pics were taken? |

Heh, so how do you know it has a better lens and sensor ?
The reality is, we've no idea how good the sensors and lenses used in both phones are unless we're mobile phone engineering experts. People can go on all day about CMOS vs CCD but it doesnt matter since we're not in a test lab to be able to determine which is better scientifically.
We're all just basing what we see better as our opinions, theres no point in talking about phone hardware unless we completely have the facts - which we dont.
Could someone possibly post a good example of where the N90 outperforms the K750i's camera ? im yet to see any example which convinces me that the N90 has even a good camera, never mind one that can compete with the K750i.
