just phoned o2 up, apparently they don't have a complaints dept over the phone but i got an address which i can right to in order to complain. the guy on the phone couldn't believe what i was telling him and he was really helpful so o2 have got pass marks for the phone service today.

O2 staff are still better than Orange phone trainers...phone trainers with no knowledge of phones!

id beg to differ Axxxr,
ask me any question about any phone on the Orange range and i reckon i could answer it!!
apparently im known at HQ for being clever with laptops and phones and syncing!

Coming from an orange background and having worked for O2 aswell for a while i can easily compare the two...and i must say that O2 staff beat orange retail staff hands down when it comes to handset knowledge...Obviously i can't say this for all orange staff but i would say a vast majority.

kinda back to topic-from a legal standpoint, O2 aren't im breach me advertising regulations as they did not intentionally or falsely advertise or mislead customers on the pricing me a product. they have a legal right to not sell any product within there range without giving any prior notice. however, this is extremely bad example me service considering the industries reputation for luring customers into shops with ambiguous offers!

how is it not false advertising if it states in black and white that you can buy it sim free for £300 but when you get to a shop they wont let you!
thats classed as flase advertising in my book.
i sure as hell know that at my place of work if its in the magazine we have to honour it, and i work along the same lines of shops as o2 retail!
@ Axxxr was a bit of a sweeping statement! as you pount out, no you cant comment on the whole of 1800 phone trainers, but a lot more than you imaigne now a lot about phones!

It's no different from when Orange released the Nokia 6230 to new customers before it was available on upgrade, as they generate more revenue that way. The only difference seems to me that the shop staff at O2 are honest (to their own detriment, and unnecessarily rudely) about why the handset is not available. I remember phoning Orange several times and getting a range of BS stories, the best of which was about how "extra testing" was required before it could be released for upgrade....I ask you!
Don't get me wrong, I make no generalisations about all staff, having worked in mobile retail myself, I am well aware how annoying (and wrong) the sweeping judgments can be. But it is my experience, across the board, that the rule of thumb in the mobile industry seems to be, "if you don't know, blag it!"
Of course, there are a few who do know, but I would admit that you don't come across them all that often.

Ugh... I hated Orange when I was with them... I asked for an upgrade and they ended up giving me 2 contracts...and then I switched to 02 because of what Orange did with the K700. They were REALLY useless. 02 hasn't been so bad lately, although they did manage to phone me on the train pestering me about the fact that my contract was about to run out. Extremely annoying.

A challenge - how do I set up Wifi on my M2000 to work with my home wireless network????? I rang Orange and they said the don't support this feature even though it's released as an orange manufactured phone! The 2nd time I rang up they gave for me a telephone no for the wifi helpline for France Telecom! |
