The numbers of colors is a hardware issue, but SE can make the phone software be able to use 4000 colors, and make a now model f.ex T68c with a better color display

@Raikee(oder sölli sägä: hooded-Claw? ): yepp! aber mir schienäd do wieter z'si mit dä diskussion um 4096 farbä... trotzdäm:
@marton,Z___Z, Raptor and MixiN: this ain't only a hardware-thing. Of course, HW must be able to display a certain amount of colors, but finally, the Software controls the display. You can compare it to Windows: you have the possibility there as well to adjust the amount of colors. And so it might be possible to do it on the T68 as well.
I know, it sounds strange, but wouldn't it be possible that S/O/N/Y was in a bit of a hurry when launching T68m, and they didn't have the time to implement 4096 colors?
But again, the originator of this Thread (JorgenSt) could bring some light into it.
Greetz,
Rog.

Well, I can tell u guys that, 256 color is 8bit, and 4096 is 12 bit, so the difference is just 4 bit. "Maybe" the hardware LCD of T68 is really able to support 12 bit, but just because the normal software all support 8 bit color(12 bit is not a standard), so sonyericsson just do not have time to compose a new software for full support of the LCD at the early beginning. So there may still be a hope.. |

Hi,
as some others, I just upgraded my phone to R2F004 today...
One thing for sure is that the screen update thing at 4096 colors is not on the menu this time, according to the service menu tests services (screen test) it still does display 256 colors. I ulploaded some pics to the phone it they still show the way they did before, so no change here. As for the rest, the only thing i could notice is a very small improvement of speed in general and particulary when opening sms inbox & outbox, the wait seems to shortened noticeably and the typing seems to be a little more fast too.
But it seems that this version is a minor soft update that does fix some minor bugs. Just to do some cleaning in the code but nothing new!
Anb btw, R2F004 is not a rumour...

Nope
Still the old damn menu. No new tone (still tone and clicks), and nothing to customize the sounds or to make it last longer/louder
As I said, they just seem to have use all the time to remove the bugs instead of putting new things on top of it. Which in some way is a good thing... Gotta wait for the next one to get something new I think... |
