Returning to the 7mp phone question - 7mp for WHAT??? Even having a 7mp digicamera, 98% of the time i take photos of 4mp max...i donīt need gigantic files for nothing, and so does the normal user... |

7mp maybe a little much...
But you can always take 4mp pic quality with a 7mp and use 7mp only when needed. By the way you never know when you will take the "pic of your life" and you wish to blow it up into a 11x8 print.
The price tag could scare most ppl off. 7mp dig camera is expensive enough and now 7mp camera+phone, I won't even guess the price.
But I think I like how samsung is pushing the bar of camera in cell-phones. Maybe there will be soon one day when 4 or 5 mp is common on phone like 0.3 or 1.3 mp now and memory is not a concern anymore.

My views on the 5mp and 7mp are that they look way too much like a camera, are unnecessary( why should i pay for the extra mps when i dont need more than 3mp even from my digi-cam), big and would obviously would be prohibitively expensive. The music phone seems very impressive though, but it seems too thick, price i believe would again be a major concern and lack of umts(and edge) is something that might keep me away from it as well as w800 and k750 |

A hard drive in a phone. We will have to wait and see how reliable that is. For the average user 2-4mpix is more than enough. So having a 5-7mp camera/phone is not necessary for most.

the question really is: do v need just 2 make phone calls or listen 2 music or take pics. technology isn't that advanced 2 provide the best of the above 3 in a single device. another factor we should consider while buying these gizmos is their upgradability. i'm an avid photographer and i feel the need 2 buy a new cam more frequently than a new mobile phone. cheers

A seven megapixel cam phone is too advanced at this stage.

A 7.0 megapixel camera phone is not too advanced IMO, as this will raise the bar for other manufacturers to start producing decent cameras in their smartphones as anything lower than a 3.0 megapixel should be made redundant, SE will have to pull their finger out!

Samsung's SGH-i300 has certainly raised the bar 4 music mobiles; shame W800 is history already.
