@tomcat, the more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to think that petrutms could well be right - i.e that our syncstations are dead. That would explain why all efforts to fix the problem have failed.
Mine was working fine right up to and including the firmware update I tried using SEUS about 2 weeks ago. It stopped working literally as soon as the update was finished, and hasn't worked again since, no matter how many reinstallations and different drivers I have tried. I'm still getting the green light on the syncstation when I put the phone on it, but something else in the connector or the usb cable must be fried. |

That is just GREAT !!!!
You guys can go to service center and do the update, while I'm stuck with it, considering that there is no service centere in my country. Lucky me, don't U think so ?? |

Try to get your hands on another syncstation and see if that solves the problem. They are reasonably cheap. Might be worth it if you really want to update your phone. |

I'm using both of them, both working with SEUS. Try to reinstall Windows if that's not working there are surely something wrong with your DSS-20 (it's not CSS-20 you have?). |

I have formated C: drive today, installed Xp sp1, but the problem still remains, so that is not the issue. At the bottom of the stand says DSS-20, and I got it together with my p800.

tomcat,
found my problem on my pc . The syncstation is good, done the update now just to ckeck . The problem was a stupid modem installed on my pc. Just a normal dial-up modem....I removed the modem, and the dss instantly worked for update. Also moved the usb 2.0 cable to another jack on the motherboard...but that i dont think is a problem.
So if you have a modem installed please remove it and eventually unninstall it. If still doesnt work, your dss is 100% dead.
The modem explains the problems because installs himself on a com port, and maybe were some conflicts...
Good luck.

LOL . didn`t thought at that... i have a lan broadband connection, no need for modem. If you use dial-up is a waste of time to update the s700. Try to use a cable internet connection and unistall the modem.

hehehe. Sounds very easy for U to say.
Here in Serbia, I'm even happy to have more than 33.6 speed.
