What I picked up from that was it aims to cover 50% of the population with 3G by June - and will roll it out to meet consumer demand. No to Edge and I-Mode looks very interesting. (Sorry I am in work at the moment and had to skip over most of it. |

@peanut an others... BT arent gonna buy O2 out at any point soon... BT are just about to throw a lot into Bluephone and have signed an agreement with Voda so their money is in that....
Why would they buy a mobile network back jus after they have signed a pricey agreement with a direct competitor?

re-read my post i never said bt were going to buy out o2. what i said was my organisation owns bt's largest competitor and we're lookng to expand our mobile division. When I say bt's largest competitor I'm talking landline not mobile. So, that in mind you will see why I'm busy reading up on o2.... |

@peanut
Are we allowed to know the name of this company? I have a reasonably good idea of who it is anyway and I am actually surprised that they haven't done this sooner.

3 operate a 'walled garden' with respects to internet browsing. What this means is that 3's customers can only access 3's content, not the internet as a whole. You would be unable to access Esato from a 3 handset for example.

In addition to the O2 X4, O2 will offer 3G customers a range of handsets from leading manufacturers, including the Nokia 6630, Samsung Z107, Motorola V975 and the Sony Ericcson V800.
According to the extract i have pasted here O2 is releasing the V800 on their nextwork? Well folks i have bad bad news !! I had an interesting chat with an o2 sales rep about 3g phones this week in the o2 shop in town (UK) and he said that the V800 was not going to be released by them. He showed me the roadmap/gateway map that the sales rep had listing all the phones that will be released by 02 on 3g this year, and the V800 is not on the list !!! So now you know !!! hey are gonna release new Nokia's and Motorola's instead |

That is bad news. Do think this is because of the network problems they have been having recently?

O2 might not have any interest in the V800, it may not fit in with their business plan for 3G.

Not by tolling customer volume, no. I'm not saying anymore.
O2 must at some point be introducing the V800 as my friend is a switch engineer for O2 and has one his very self! It's nothing remarkable in my opinion but the new O2 Active portal is quite funky. |

Whats Tolling Customer Volume?
Yeah I agree. I am quite impressed with O2' Active, although I did download a song which I thought would be at least a couple of minutes long but it lasted about 8 seconds!!! and it cost me a couple of pounds.
I hope the V800 does come out on O2. I want it to be my next handset.
