@govigov: Quite agree. I consider series60 phones as "toy Symbian" devices. Their productive functional capabilities vis-a-vis UIQ/communicator is miles behind. Anyone who uses a P-series like he would a regular phone ought to be shot (not literally :)

How about the Samsung phones on Symbian? Those should have some of the advanced functionality some of us are used to? I've also heard a few good comments about the D500.

for samsung, symbain is a like a taboo. they will always make custom built software for exclusive use in their phones. and they suck at making that software.

An annoying thing is: ou cant send/receive ringtones/images via IrDA; all MMS I sent out arrived on other phones with audio & graphics not showing. I am beginning to think that aliens create Sams' software. Proprietory crap!

@ ThreeX, you got it right! Nokia's 2110 from way back and their 6100 have basically the same menu, just added a colour screen and poly rings!
Samsungs have great displays and great tones, not forgetting interesting designs but that's about it. They have very few phones with both bluetooth and infrared, basically their connectivity is whack! tried sharing tones and photos with a few, and gave up!

Like I said earlier, I've heard a few good things about the D500. I am not a Samsung hater. If they are changing, let's give them some credit, guys - same as I hear Moto's sacked the aliens that used to work in their software R&D
