They aim to take a pint, but depending on how fast your blood is flowing, they'll take that little bit more or a little less

oh..
they also do an AIDS test.. and check for some haemoglobin levels and blood group (of course).
but all this is done after they pack the blood.

it doesn't pain.. except during the injection of the needle... and a bit at the beginning when they tell you to squeeze your hand... it gets numb after a while.
but...if u take the proper precautions, its absolutely no problem.

oh also.. you shouldn't have had any alcohol/drugs 24 hours prior to the blood donation.

have been donating blood since I was 18 (now I'm 25)... did my 24th donation a couple of weeks ago....

here in Sweden there is ~450000 people registrated for blood donation.

ooohhhh ive got some blood donation horror stories! (turns that ELISA can test neg. for HIV but it can still be in the blood!)
