Now the reason for this thread... I've been told that there are only two basic ways of pronouncing tea no matter what language - tea/thee/thé or cha/chai. I'm trying to find exceptions to this theory.

oh i think you're right!!
most of the words used here are tea/thee/ or chai/cha/etc..
