No idea, mince. I think that people like the 1GB storage. As I don't go in for all the multi-media stuff, it's a mystery to me.

OK i'm still missing something - if someone were to email me an attachment to a web based email account I would save the attachment locally to my lappy or PC to work/play with. Is it also web or ftp space?

Before KiMcHeEbOi tells you lot if you wanted web space then you could use www.spymac.com because you can upload files on that...and its also 1gb storage.

As Lynx69 said it (spymac) is free, but they also offer a 3GB service which has to be paid for.
