I just heard news from Siemens. They said that the S6 series have horibble bug. The tone, that inform that battery is low, is very harmful for human hearing! Simens invated all owners of S6 series to go to Siemens's services, since they give free change of software that delete that teribble bug! I can't beleve it! Now buy S65 if you are brave!

yes i will buy S65...im brave.
remember that there are lots of BUGs in K700i also.
i hope you guys are not biased because some of you are using K700i...as i mention, im also an SE user but K700i didnt make my head turn.

Lets face it, if you need some of the missin features in S65 you better buy K700 or other similar phone. Beside that, some of the drawbacks I mentioned requires HW upgrade (radio, screen with higher resolution etc.).
i really dont need MP3, radio it suck battery, or claming k700i have a higher resolution. what is important for me is...if the picture looks great on the LCD thats fine. buy the way....what really makes me disliking K700i was the memory...whats the use of mp3 if theres no external memory?

I agree on the bugs opinion
All new phones have bugs, the K700 did, the 6230 did, the SX/M/S65 do - as long as they get fixed in firmware within a reasonable time then that should not keep anyone from getting a phone they like. At most it should make someone wait a while before getting it to make sure they do get fixed - but thats all.
The mp3 function is nice - because of the ringtones, they are so much nicer than midis - not as an mp3 player - therefore memory doesnt matter that much. Id rather use a proper mp3player like my Ipod for that purpose but I would really hate to not have the mp3 ringtone feature.
Having a memoryslot without the possibility to run neither applications, games, mp3 or good quality videos from the memorycard - makes less sence than only having 41mb onboard memory with the option of playing anything you like from the onboard memory. All though you cant store endlessly atleast you are able to actually play what you want - the S65 has endless memory but nothing really to do with it. The 41 mb onboard memory of the K700 is still plenty to actually store 10 good sounding mp4 - lots of pictures, lots of ringtones, lots of games etc.
Choosing between having endless memory with no use or having limited but still plenty memory with unlimited use is an easy choice for me.
Screenresolution is important - because as you will learn when you do get the S65 - pictures do not look nearly as good on the S65 as on the K700 screen.
And from what we have seen so far - even the quality of the camera which is the S65 main sellingpoint - is far below expectations.
So to me the S65 is not a good alternative to K700

K700 have bugs, but they cannot harm you! K700 is much much more quality than S65. Screen is better, even camera. But, it is your choise!

Good news!!....well maybe for me. i went to a telecom center (philippines) yesterday where they sell almost all brands of phones and had the chance to compare the display of S65 and K700i....im proud to tell and share to you who hate S65 that she wins (for me). ok, ok i know SIR-Sonyericsson-man will disagree maybe the one you have tested was bad(not all apples are good-there's lots of bad apples too?).
comparing the quality of them...k700i feel is like a toy...like a small calculator, sqeaking body and the keypads glue to membrane is visible like my T630.
dont hate me k700i users...we're at ESATO to share, compare, and give a good advice for mobile phone users.
Good day!!

that's interesting considering s65 has a smaller resolution.....
i haven't compared them because i didn't had the chance to test them together yet but i just have to say that k700 doesn't feel like a toy.... |

yes its my choice and thanks for sharing your negative points with s65. maybe someday or if SE will release a K700 with memory slot and a black version like the T630 that would be wonderful, im gonna buy it. |

Short sighted or what?
I just came home from Germany with some new experience of Siemens S65, M65 and some other handsets and I can tell you already now that I totally disagree in those good things you wrote about S65.
The K700i feels like a claculator? maybe a luxury one because my Casio a graph calculator is bigger and far more plastic than that.
The resolution is worse to the Siemens S65, just face it!
Bigger display doesn't necessarly mean better resolution and I hope
you are totally aware of that.
Visible display of K700i:
2.9x3.6cm = 10.44
I'm not sure here actually
3.2x4.0cm = 12.8
K700i's resolution:
176x220 = 38720
S65's resolution:
132x176 = 23232
38720/10.44 = 3708
23232/12.8= 1815
K700i dots/sq.cm = 3708
S65 dots/sq.cm = 1815
Wow!! more than twice as many dots per sq.cm.
Colours are dull due to it's "low" resolution in comparison to K700i and the colour transition is really not as good as the one in the K700i. K700i with squeaking body? you must been joking, this is not Nokia or Siemens. MP3 is not important but still you enlighting the importance in having expandable slot, what's the point?. Going for a photo tour with your S65? High preferences to MP3 but totally the opposite regarding photos? I said to myself before I bought my K700i that I will not use the mp3 function or the radio function because I have that in my MP3-player and that was useless I thought. It would be stupid to not use those functions you pay for. Functions are there and those functions are good. MP3 playback as well as radio are surprisingly good and I use those functions more than I expected. Battery time is not an issue for me. My K700i last at least three days with a few hours of radio per day.
Nevertheless, I have to admit that I think S65 looks better than the K700i but I also wish it could be smaller
I know it is hard to admit flaws of one thing you really like, it is the same for me but I'm definitely not that short sighted.
One last thing, I accept your choice of course.

This thread isn't big and I took my time to read it from the beginning before I wrote my last post and your last post just shows how short sighted or should I say biased you are... *sigh*
I have never ever said anything bad about expandable slot and I would love to see it in K700i but you can't get everything, at least you get more with Sony Ericsson K700i than you do with Siemens S65.
No idea to argue with you because you have decided already, I just wanted to make you to think different but it is Simens S65 for you.

me short sighted and bias? maybe you mate. remember, you are in esato and youre defending K700i maybe because you owned one and again its my decision and never could i get more with K700i (not SE, K7 only bcoz i have t68 and t610 and 630 before).
you say: Short sighted or what?

If these are your experiences with S65 then bad for you, i had a differenet one. and yes id payed for S65 not having an Mp3 because it is not that important. for me if a phone is a camera phone ill use the memory for the pictures. im not saying mp3s a bad idea for phone but its a matter of taste.
and about the sqeaking body, the wet looking keypad? im not joking man. maybe thats my bad experience with K700.\
im still an SE user and waiting for a K700 with mem slot.
PEACE
