talking about specs, i know that razr v3 is no match to s700i's specs, but consider the super thin design and the covering of the phone, the 1.3 megapixel cam with video recording and playback... imagine a super thin phone still power packed.
try to consider MPx300 vs s700i.. even p910 is no match to it (IMHO).
but still i like ericsson, it's just that i want to broaden my choices now. peace out.. |

hmm interesting thread...but it wouldn't be fair to compare the V3 to the S700/P910 (only thing they MIGHT have in common is price)...i could be wrong but if i remember right the v3 has a .3mp camera...S700 packs the 1MP (it really is like a Cybershot in more ways that one), and the P910 is what the P900 should be (just like how the P900 is what the P800 should have been) hehe...Jan/Feb 05 daw ang Razr.
The MPX220 will be out in the next few months...it runs on MS Smartphone and could very well give the Voyager a run for its money.
The MPX (aka MPX300) looks neat- playe with an engineering sample...build quality is typical solid Moto, software was a bit slow (alpha/beta version pa)...should be out ina few months too.
Motorola seems to be making some inroads- which is a good sign for the industry...Nokia meanwhile..well..it seems that their latest offerings are more reactionary than groundbreaking (except perhaps the N7610).
Don't forget Samsung too. They have some well put together units.
Whew! looks like its time for us to start saving money! hehe

pardon me if i'm mistaken, but i think that RAZR V3 has 1.3mp camera. aside from that, it boosts 260K colors internal, and an external STN display (4,096), metal body, chemically etched keypad, etc... uhmmm... on the other hand, I THINK, it is safe to compare motorola V80 and sony ercisson s700i... so guys, before you buy your s700i, check out v80 first, you might consider it over the former.. ciao!
motorola v80
also check out MPx100

Hmmm.... can you verify that?
I'm still basing the specs from the white paper (still as of May) it says Memory Stick Duo - crapper, upto 128mb only. |

yes that is one of the main factors whether to buy s700 (pro vs duo).
btw, a little off topic, i compared the s700 and p910 on esato, i noticed that p910 has an X marked on mp3 feature but has a check on mp3 as ringtone is this correct???? |

would it be a good idea to pay for a mobile phone iwht EDGe? kasi network dependent pa din yang feature na yan di ba? so kung di pa capable ang smart at globe e di parang nagbayad tayo sa isang feature na hindi pa nating magagamit???? |

Both Globe and Smart have EDGE capable GSM networks, if i'm not mistaken. |

RE: Memory Stick Capacity of the S700
I watched the CeBit S700 video presentation here on Esato:
http://www.esato.com/news/cebit2004.php?sd=7
The Sony Ericsson representative who was showing off the phone claimed that the Sony Ericsson's memory can be expanded via Memory Stick UP TO 1GB. So I would think this safely means yes, the SE S700i will support the Memory Stick PRO Duo. The 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo will be made available sometime 3rd or 4rth Quarter this year.
Fun, fun.

The CEBit video on esato is dated march. The s700 whitepaper was updated this May 2004 with...
Quote:
| p. 21
The S700 supports Memory Stick Duo,
a miniature version of the Memory Stick series
which is just one third the volume of standard
Memory Sticks and has up to 128MB memory. A
16 MB Memory Stick Duo is supplied with the
S700. |

[edit]oh yeah... some bloke in HK said that it'll be around 4280 HKD there, in two weeks time. But we know water goods prices there in HK, they tend to go down really fast.

Hope the price would just be below 30k, remember that introductory price of k700i is 25k, so we'll be expecting that s700 would cost higher than 25k...baka nga more or less 30k...It's definitely a great camera phone...sadly, according to mobileburn review, it can only support up to 128mb...go to this page if you want to read the review..http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=652&source=SEARCH
but it doesn't matter if it supports up to 128mb only, it's a great camera phone and 128mb is too much for a phone...
