@ LordMike, the infamous quote by Bill Gates, telling "640Kb shud be enouf for any1" was on RAM and not on HDD. 640Kb is the Base memory for DOS. The next 384 Kb above that is called Expanded Memory and whatever RAM you add on the computer is Extended Memory. And thatz win9x requires Himem.sys to load before loading Windows...

Also @LordMike, even with your understanding... the context is contradictory. The 1 GB memory that we are talking about for P910 is like HDD for the phone. Its storage, its not the phone RAM.

a little off topic perhaps, but also a little nostalga there remembering hours spent trying to fit some apps into high memory in the most optimum way in config.sys and autoexec.bat so that as much of the initial 640kb could be available to load whatever programs we might want to run ad hoc (flight sim etc)
thank goodness for virtual memory!
