I found this function very useful.
I've never recorded anyone without the consent but was very good to take down directions or the misses wanted me to buy a buy a few things on the way home.
Never had a bleep as I remember, it was on my old Nokia 8310.
Did someone say the K700 has this function?

I have a k700!
But the beep is useful for what?
It's not a function, is featuring that you can't turn off or somthing..
You record, it sounds the beep. |

You can't. That's so people'll know that you're recording them. You know, it's illegal to record without their consent.

I heard that if you say certain words on the phone like 'Usama Bin Laden' or 'Al Qaeda' the FBI or MI6 will start recording you phone call.
Maybe the beeps are them tapping in?

This legal/illegal thing is completely location dependent. For instance in Texas if i remember correctly it is a single party consent law... IOW if one party is aware of the recording taking place then it is legal (pretty funny if you ask me). This is also true for some other states as well. Then of course there are places where both parties need to consent... this probably gets even more interesting legally if you are recording a conference call... |
