To put a few things straight wap is not the transmission method it is the browser language. Much like html tends to be the browser language on the internet. Even using gprs you are using wap. The standard transmission carrier is CSD. The T mobile offer is 10 megs of data for a flat fee of 20ukp a month then 2p per kb and it is gprs! I think we may find the phone will always try to connect via gprs for mms anyway!

Just to settle a few things in this little arguement:
Firstly these are the terms and conditions from T-Mobile:
"Subscribe to the T-Mobile Picture Messaging service
A charge of £20 per month (in addition to your price plan) gives you connection to the service and an allowance of 10MB to send and receive picture messages with your phone. It also includes unlimited access to your Picture Messaging Centre on the web including the image gallery."
--Which I think is a damn bump! Even if you spend more than £20 / month on txt's the whole point is that it gets to them immediately and not when they decide to check their mail!!!
and secondly regarding MMS via lycos you can't send it to any phones at present - only to other lycos members or E-mail addresses. |
