Ok so we are talking about the 6230, well the screens the size of a stamp with as many colours. Also who wants to buy expensive memory cards for a phone that you'll have for a year. Then when you upgrade they'll probably be no use

gunn,
You should not compare a smartphone with a normal one.
7610 is the latest of all handsets from Nokia and is of course the best one for today and therefor should be compared with Sony Ericsson P900. I'm not surprised if 7610 happen to be better than the P900 since the latter one is over 6 months old.
Back to what this thread really is about.
If you really think Sony Ericsson sucks due to the lack of external memory, then I guess memory is everything for you.
For me I want it to be easy to use and I think most of us (even Nokia users) prefer Sony Ericsson's UI to not mention how much more colourfull it is. I want to have a display which is capable to view information even in outdoor environment and Nokia today is not capable to do this task well. I want it to be cheap but not featureless and I know Nokia 6230 cost about the same as K700i but the latter does everything better than its rivals.
176x220 or 128x128?
Barely visible or fully visible display (outdoor)
Big or small display? (Size in this case does matter)
Sony Ericsson's radio or the one from Nokia?
Colourless or colourfull UI?
Aluminum or plastic feeling?

Basically this guy is basing the whole judgement on a memory card slot. IN this respect SE to lag behind Nokia as they have almost made it a standard feature. Think how much more you'd enjoyu your K700 if you could put a 128 or 512 MB card and have lots of MP3's on and even a movie it would make the phone much much better.
SE need to take a leaf out of Nokias book and catch up and get with the flipping programme.

= umm have you tried the nokia 6600. I admit it's a bit plasticy, but way better than K700 & on par with Z1010(except for 3g capability).
I wouldn't really class a 6600 or 7610 as a smartphone (unlike pda types such as P8/9 treo etc), just a very highspec handset.
should have a K730 with expandible memory slot/mem duo.
could even speak to nokia and license the series 60 platform. Then there would be a level playing field.
If there were 2 identical handset. I mean exactly, one with a nokia badge and one with an badge. The diehard fans here would still shout till they were blue in the face how crap nokia are and how great the handset is. They would do. This is a major forum with fanatical supporters

i never get why people say you cant compare phones. at the end of the day you walk into a phone shop with £50 in your pocket and want a contract phone
you have a chose between k700 (great phone) and nokia 6600 or 7610
same price on same contract you look at the features you need if both have them its which you personally think is best
same works for any other phone if thep900 was the same price on contract as the k700 they would be comparable as thats the price range you start from
also someone mentioned that you cant see nokia screens in the sun.
well i own a n6600 and can say i can see the screen perfectly in the bright sunshine so not sure whats wrong with the ones theyve been looking at
also if the n7610 was an se phone people on here would claim it was the greatest phone ever made and a nokia killer.
i will ask one question what have se done for you beyond taking your money(in the same way nokia do and every other phone company)
its a business transaction you pay them money they take there profit never get why you wanna give them so many props when they like every other business have just made a tasty profit out of you so the directors can get themselves a nice holiday home somewhere |

slattery69,
I do not agree with you.
There are actually a lot of people who is not biased.
The look of Nokia 7610 is nothing we need to discuss about.
It is ugly but I like its featureset a lot and wouldn't mind to own one thanks to its features. |

i hope there are plenty of unbias people to say you dont like the looks of something is fair enough as looks are subjective and we are all differnet but to often i come on here and its just i hate nokia and they offer no reason why appart from its a nokia
i even noticed today people doing it against se for no reason
at the end of the day you should buy the phone that suits your needs and budget be it nokia se motorola etc
enjoy what you have bought its your money the big wig at the phone company is enjoy your money in his plush mansion and top of the range car |

I don't have Nokia.
I just think it would be much much better if K700 and T630 had external memory.
And much better for SE phones (only P900 has external memory) if they were not limited by Memory stick duo.
As you know memory stick duo pro and MMC supports 512 mb while duo only 128 mb.
Take a look at Nokia with their MMC.
It would be much better if my P900 supported EDGE, quick print, radio and fax.
If P900 was the best phone ever by SE, so why they didn't put best features in it.
Even old Nokia has EDGE and radio.
It would be much better if my ipod 40gb had radio and line-in recording. Opps wrong forum.

There is P800, P900, S700 and Z1010, that have memory stick duo. And 128mb is a lot. You can't have everything.

And there are not that many Blokias that have external memery extension, so what is your point?
