Actualy, in my own educatd gues, ewap stands for EDGE WAP, and nt ENHANCED WAP since ewap is suposed to be for edge enable phone, d thng y GPRS fones cn use ewap whch is suposed to b only for EDGE, coz ewap only uses gprs cnexion and nt d real edge. Hail to master nokiakilla for ds thought!

maybe its true. But i believe EDGE technology is not yet offered by boy network. you may ask globe what ewap stands for. they will reply ENHANCED WAP.:-)

Maybe ur ryt bt globe made d wrong dscription for it coz NOTHING IS ENHANCED wd d ewap cnexion they offer, lolz. Jus d same old gprs cnexion they blockd a yr ago.

yeah. if its really EDGE. They should name it EDGE. not EDGE WAP. Lol well EWAP ENHANCED WAP whatever, its FREE. Enjoy while it last.:-)

Whatever this EWAP thing is, could anybody post the settings that need to be configured to enable it? or perhaps a link pointing to a site? or whatever.
I'd like to try this one. I tried Globe CSD and that didn't cut it. I'm on a Flex plan anyway. Maybe I'd see if it comes out on my bill. |

@slomo - r u using globe prepaid or postpaid? just call 211 and have your ewap activated. tell them your using 6600 and have configured your unit. coz ewap is for 6600 and edge capable units. then change your apn to ************** that's it!

How will EVERYONE enjoy if it doesn't last??? If you keep broadcasting this info to everyone Globe will SURELY terminate it ASAP!!! It doesn't take much to understand this...
If you really want to share it there are more RESPONSIBLE ways to do it. Ever heard of PM?

ay basta ako meron akong sim card na nakakapagbigay sakin ng unlimited internet access kahit zero load na. nakaconnect lang ito sa pc ko na may bluetooth patungo sa R520 ko. sa mga nagtataka, illegal ba itong ginawa ko? hindi. may binayaran ba ako na tao sa loob ng network? wala. anong network? secret. may ginawa ba akong special settings? wala.
isang araw, ipinasok ko ang aking isang nakatambak na sim card sa R520 ko, tapos nagulat ako ng nakita kong di nawawala ang signal ng gprs, kaya sinubukan ko ito sa pocket pc ko, at ayun gumana, ginamit ko rin sa pc ko, gumana, sa laptop, gumagana din.
kaya kahit san man ako naroroon, ay online ako.
para sa mga mag pi-PM sa akin tungkol dito, sori pero di ko maaring ishare ang impormasyong ito. sarap na ng buhay ko na unlimited internet thru gprs. sa palagay ko, special case ang nangyari sa sim card ko. kaya maaring di ito gagana sa inyo. yun lang salamat. wag na kayong mag-away away tungkol sa ewap ng globe. |

randyrivera: swerte mo nga, sa ngayon. ever heard of SIM card expiry? if you don't reload your sim for 4 months, your SIM will expire and you won't be able to log-in to your network. you won't get network signal, and "maybe" neither GPRS signal.
anyway, thanks to this forum i learned about EWAP. For that, i had my Smart Amazing Phone unlocked and swapped my Smart SIM to Globe. Gosh, i could open any HTML site for free! Yipee!
i hope this one stays for good.
i'm thinking if i should share this sa myGlobe forum. kasi dami subscribers dun nagcocomplain about blocked WAP sites ng Globe. kakaawa sila they don't know that they can take advantage of EWAP kahit hindi EDGE enabled ang fone nila. Kaso hesitant ako kasi may mga people from Globe na nagmomonitor ng forum na yun.
