G-mail goes Pop 3

It's not perfect, but it's very promising. This little systray app can check your Gmail and will let you POP3 your messages off of it. Formatting is a bit mangled, sending doesn't work for me and the alert for new mail isn't very obvious, but until Google gives me something better I'll be running it at work and at home.

Is it be safe? because im a bit skeptical about letting someone find out my password

originally google provided a facility for people to sign up their interest and at some stage some of those received invitations from google to create their gmail account. from their some of those people who created accounts then received invitations in that account to invite others and so it goes on.

its a neat way for google to gradually increase the gmail members in a controlled way so they can monitor performance etc

well I used my first invitations to create a couple of other personal accounts for myelf for different uses and they have now received the ability to send out a few invitations too, so yes, eventually it seems that invited people can at some point invite others, but you can't do it when you want, you have to wait for google to release more invitations and they appear above your inbox so that you know you have some

this is what it looks like and the red writing says "invite a friend to join gmail!"

For Mac OS X 10.3 users, here is a tiny program that will display the number of unread gMails in your menu bar.

Was going to try Gmail but Yahoo now has 100MB. They're probably going to upgrade that when Gmail launches the final version. However, I'm really curious about the conversations concept.
