@waja: I am glad Siemens didn't share ur ideea of a colour screen. If u look it up, a colour screen is a colour screen even if it has 4 or 16 or 256 colors. If it wasn't for Siemens, colour screens wouldn't be available as no one dared to spend so much $ for a "colour" experiment on the market256 colours? haha Don't make me laugh!Do u recognize urself in a picture on a 256 colours screen?Get a T610

actually 701 I believe it was S10 the first, then SL10 and in third S11. I believe S10 is the oldest, released in 1997.
S10 was my first phone and I've loved it so much in that time I wished it would still work!... Although it had only 4 colors, the colors were great and I've never realised why siemens stopped using color screens... I've recently bought a working SL10 and its fantastic! Just for the fun of it of course

@si_v80 - I think you'll not be able to use it (fone) anymore mate, as long as the charger is gone/missing Better buy one (charger) - ASAP, while there's still some in the market !

T68 was the first to display JPEG and GIF images in colour. And Bluetooth. MMS was a first as well (if you count firmware upgrades).

The first one was Siemens S25. I owned it when it came out. But I don't remember what year it was thought.

a colour screen like the s10 definitely qualifies as a colour screen, since it has more than two colours, however the phone itself could not display jpeg or gifs.
When people talk colour screens they generally mean 256 colours or more, on phones that can display the common image formats jpg and gif. These phones would be called pictures phones, in which case the question should be "First Picture Phone?", and the answer is T68 |
