atlis,
my personal advise to u. do not rush for R5B upgrade. wait for the next upgrade. they have the improvement, but they have something pretty annoying too... please hold ya horses and wait for the next upgrade whereby it will come soon. |

So far I have no bad experiences with R5, other than the Vodafone version has newer icons (small change)...
First day when I wanted to add a new calendar object and got to the step in the "wizard" where I type the date it said the day after the day I marked in the "view month" view...
But that's gone now - weird...

seiunUsagi,
true as well. i seen user with R5B using without complain and i had spoken to the technical personnel from they got complain from most of the users and some lucky users just don't face the problems. guess u would be the lucky one out there. |

How do you check for your firmware version on your Z600 phone? |

One of the most common questions...
do this: < = left on the menu button
> = right
* = the * button

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I just realised that.. I'm new to this forum, so I apologize.
My phone says "R2F001 prgCXC....", and then another
"R2F001 prgCXC....", but the second's last few digits are different. Is the second one indicating anything different from the first line?
Also, I've read a review on mobileburn of the Z600 (written Oct '03). He speculated that possibly a firm ware upgrade in the future could possibly improve the camera's performance (picture quality)... Do you think something like this is possible? He mentioned "magenta" errors with bright lighted objects, I found that to be true with some photos I took.
I see that the camera also got a software version (200307140).
I'm not really into the camera function of the phone because I have a good Sony Cybershot camera which I am more than happy with. But it would be interesting to know that software upgrade could possibly improve things.

I have the new software and it seems to be quite a bit faster. Jave starts faster as well. I have not tested many other things on it as yet. I just got a P900 and have been playing with that also. I think the update is worth it if you can get it. |

I've now found a bug in the R5.
If I have a meeting that starts the last day of the month and ends the first day of the month after there won't be any markings the month after where I have any meetings.
For example, I have something to do January 31:th 9 PM, which ends February 1:th 1 AM.
When I look at February I won't see any "fat days" at all. Even if the month is booked up.

@fu1at, how do you know that will be releasing a new firmware soon?
R5BXXX was released only recently. Even though there are some problems we can all only hope that as you say will release another new version soon.

@cezwho: Could you (or any other R5-user) try the thing I mentioned earlier? Just create a note on the last day of the month and make sure it starts on the last day and ends on the first day of the next-comming month...
And add some notes the next month to see if they become fat

@seiunUsagi, when you says fat days, are you referring to the highlight bar when you view by week.
I tried what you had mentioned. Create an appointment from 31/01/2004 0000hrs till 02-02-2004 2359hrs. I can see the highlight bar from 31/01 till 02/02. When I select 02/02/2004 it does tell me that the appointment started on 31/01/2004.
I'm on R5B001. Don't get the fault that you seems to have.
