Let us make a comparison of colour screens.
From Black and white screen : 2 colours (all the old phones)
T68 has 256 colours.
256 devide by 2 equal 128 ( T68 screen has 128 time more colour screen improvement over all the existing Phones)
T100 has 4096 colours
4096 devide by 256 equal 16 ( T100 only makes 16 time more colour screen improvement over T68 screen)
Statistically, there isn't much improvement in T100 colour screen.

The T68m/i has a limited color profile (not true 256) and this was mentioned many times in the forum. The enhanced .bmp on my T68m looks better but is still limited by hardware as it cannot display the correct shades.

i think the t68i is still the best phone for me at the moment. i don't really need the color screen, but i can't live without gprs and bluetooth. i would have to admit the t68i menu is slower though. i wish it would be as "snappy" as the nokias. well i guess i have to wait for the next upgrade. |

ghost image if not mistaken if those effect when you are out of the viewing angle of those screen. T68 using screen tht is equal to DSTN screen for Laptop so the contrast and sharpness might not be as nice as T100 which uses TFT screen. OF course we all won't dump T68 because of this as T100 just use colour screen for no reason since it didn't have MMS or WAP Browser 2.0
Anyway do keep in mind sony ericsson have at least 2 J-phone tht use 65k TFT screen, so maybe they will implentment it on GSM model soon.
No of colour won;t make much different because a 256 colour picture will still be 256 colour picture even you use a 4096 colour screen to view it. |

I have seen the "ghost" on my T68m. It's the image of the previous screen that lingers behind even after you switch to another screen. It's a refresh thingy and a known weakness of the STN screen. |

I think the Samsung T100 screen is great. Fun to use, etc..etc... But you have to understand that this is on a MOBILE device with limited power. True the screen is better, but that's like saying 802.11 is faster than Bluetooth, so why not put it in our mobiles??? Because it'll eat up precious battery life! There are a LOT of things that are better than what's inside the T68.
You can put a bigger transmitter, 65K color screen, dual CPU (Like the R380), Speakerphone, 802.11 AND Bluetooth, longrange FiR, MP3 Player, TV tuner, GPS, Class 10 GPRS, etc...etc... but what? 10 hour standby time? Or a battery the size of a small car? Or even worse, US$10,000 or more price tag (Vertu anyone? hehehehe)
My point is, I love the screen of the T68 because it doesn't compromise my battery life. I'd love it if the TFT technology was advanced enough that it wouldn't suck the life out of the little Li-Pol battery... but it isn't YET. Until then, I'd rather have a phone that lasts me through a busy day, than one that can display a cute picture for about 10 hours before killing my battery.
I believe Samsung and Nokia are on to something with their 12-bit screens. But if it'll cost me battery life, I'd rather not. Maybe when they can cram a 3000mAh battery into the battery case of the T68...
Til then, 12-bit power draining screens are very impractical unless you just use your phone for SMS and games. And honestly, I'd rather jump from 8-bit to 16-bit. 8-12 isn't such a big deal to me... that's like going from a 28.8 modem to a 33.6... better, but not enough to make me gasp!
For people who really want to have the newest phones, go ahead with the T100 or 7210. They're fun and trendy. Won't really stay "ahead" in terms of technology, but most people who buy these phones don't kepp them long either. Just my 2 cents worth. |

As for bugs, from experience my t68m has been ok apart from switching itself off for no reason on odd occasions. My wife has a samsung a300, & a friend has a samsung r210. I have found both phones to be extremely stable with no bugs apparent as of yet.

Many thanks for the review.
Must say that the colour was a tempting factor. But the antenna draws me really far away from it. See, I'm kinda plump (fat) and I'm sure this T-100 will puncture a hole in my belly/waist if I were to wear it there... Thus, general health is more important than better colours. |

Makes me wonder how the SE P800, NK 7210 etc can survive with the 4096 TFT screen since power is so limited let alone some of the announced models with 65,000 colors? I don't think any manufacturer will released any phone with 256 color in the future .... so this could be an issue.
