I don't think it was ment as a prize as such. It's more to differentiate newbees from "advanced users" as some forums like to name those with more than 20 posts.

I've just got my Z600 and I'm very happy with it.
At some point though, we must accept that people grow out of their phones or perhaps the handsets fail for some reason. Or it simply may be that they want to keep up with the current market. It's personal choice.
