If anyone is interested, I just got an HPM-30. I will be the first to admit that it has some serious shortcomings, such as battery life. It eats AAA's like no tomorrow, but it is a BT device that is quite handy when I am stolling with my P900 or my T610. Oh, on the music side, it will play either MP3's or the Sony ATAC(such a shame). All in all I think that this is a progressive step for SE.
Did I sound like I was jealous of the iPOD owners? |

New iPod mini announced yesterday...
4gb storage, 1000 songs, credit card sized
$249 (maybe £199)
http://www.apple.com/ipodmini/
Plus, great new earphones for existing iPods. Like my white Sony ones but by Apple:

Once again the BBC have given Apple some more free advertising by having the iPod mini launch as a news item:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3373031.stm
For a company with around 5% market share (depending on region) Apple gets far more media coverage than I'd expect. I don't see other companies with such a small market share getting so much.
Maybe the BBC web news team are Apple fans?
BBC News Video report about it all here too (RealPlayer direct link, not QuickTime!)

Yeah, they are by far the best earphones I've ever used. The sound is amazing and they are really comfortable. Always (before these) earphones would start hurting my ears after about 30 minutes... I've worn these ones for hours and they remain as comfortable as the first minute. In fact I don't even feel them. And they match the iPod perfectly.
These new Apple ones look heavily 'inspired' by the Sony MDR EX71s. It will be interesting to compare them. The Apple ones are actually cheaper than the import (from Hong Kong) price of the Sony's. (The white ones are only available on import from Asia).

depends on whether you want one credit card size or one larger than a T610 etc. This is certainly the size I have been waiting for and 1000 tracks is plenty to occupy me for my needs

Forget what I have told you before about iRiver... I found Griffin's iTrip, which is a FM transmitter for iPod's... If I find a cheap place to buy an iPod (in Turkey, a 15GB iPod is the same price as a 40GB iPod outside Turkey) I'll probably be buying one with this iTrip... However, if I win this iTalk from Griffin's, my parents will buy me one...
I was going to buy a grey iPod mini but the transmitter is bigger than the device and the iTalk isn't compatible with mini so I'm thinking of buying a 15GB one... I think I have a tendency in accesory attachable devices, like my phones!..
PS: I might change my decision and buy the Napster Jukebox from Samsung... It has a built-in transmitter... The iPod looks better but I need an FM transmitter so badly!.. |

Has anyone got the new Ipod Mini yet.. (is it new) my main worries is that the battery time is way too low.. Otherwise it sems perfect..
Is it out yet (am I way too slow)? As you may have noticed I don't know much about it more than Aplle says themselves, wich obviously is kind of biased
I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know some more..
