While we talk about emoticons.. Is it possible to use : ) as a emoticon? Most people I send SMS to use : ) not : - ) and most of them don't have SE..
I know there's not an option.. but maybe a small hack or something? Getting BT soon so I have no idea what you have access to with your computer to change it |

For these emoticons, it's nothing special about whats being sent (correct me if I'm wrong) just that when the phone sees that : ) is in a text, it just displays a smiley there instead. I also assume that for the Siemens phone there is a short bit of text that Siemens phones recognise as being a bit of music (probably a bit that's already on the standard phone) so you're not actually sending sound, just telling the other phone to play something that's already there.

hi
I've saved smileys.vnt in my phone but I don't understand how to use them in regular sms. If it's possible to save the smileys to my dictionary then I don't know how to do it.
could someone help me with this? I don't understand what you mean with 'go over it' |

you must first save '[:' and another ']' in the dictionary. I think it's impossible to save '[:]' as a whole thing.

In the first place, where can I get the brackets? Not even in "My Symbols". I see them only appearing when typing for URLs |

Hi, I know maybe it's a bit late to reply on this topic but maybe there is still someone interested...
If you'd like to have the square smiley [:] on your personal dictionary (so it's accessible by creating a word with three "1") you can do it in a tricky way:
create a bookmark with "[" and send it as an SMS, then edit the word and add a leading dot so you'll save this ".[" in the dictionary. After that, create a ] bookmark and do the same, but with leading ":". Then on the sms input screen input ".." and choose ".[" from the list, then input another "." and choose ":]" in the list, it will appear as the complete smiley. Now it'll make a dot on screen followed by the smiley, you can then go on it and edit the word, it will appear complete on the input, so you can remove the leading "." and save the smiley only. It worked for me, hope for you too!
