No that Im at a computer i can explain hotmail popper a little better.
First off, this is not a good way to check email if you: are on 56k, don't know about port forwarding (for those with routers), static or dynamic ip's.
This method requires your computer to be on and connected to the net. Also you must have a static IP or dynamic dns running on your comp. (see http://www.dyndns.org for all you dynamic ip users out there) Now download and install the program. Then you simply need to fill out your hotmail info. By default the ip is set to 127.0.0.1. This will need to be changed in order to check via cell phone if you have a router.
For users behind routers:
If you are behind a router you need to put the ip addy your router assigns you (i.e. 192.168.0.1) and then forward ports 110 and 25 to your Computers IP.
For users with a hub or direct connection to the net:
Leave the ip at 127.0.0.1! (yes it is that easy)
So now that is set up. Time to configure your phones email client.
Setting up everything is easy
Connect Using: GRPS or what ever you have
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Server: Those of you NOT behind a router or that have a DYNDNS account use your IP address or DYNDNS name (if applies). Those behind a router need to find the routers IP and use that.
Incoming Port: 110
Outgoing Server: same as incoming Server
Outgoing Port: 25
For those with T610/6's Mailbox=email addy /Password=password for hotmail/ email address=email addy again
BTW:
This allows you to store emails on your phone for later checking without using wap connection.
Note: it does use up memory, like a TM.
I recomend for those users who save emails in other folders to leave the settings on the popper to only check the inbox. otherwise you will be downloading every email ever saved.

Ok, here is what i think. I have experienced this problem with my t610 as well but it didnt happen in my siemens m55. I was using the same card with same setting and of course same operator. Questions, why? My only answer was my t610 supports xHTML while my siemens doesnt, so if im using siemens to access hotmail it will works since it tried to access pure wap site with minimum contents but when im using t610, it will errors since it will access the xHtTML page where the contents sometimesare quiet big...

I just tried accessing hotmail through mobile.msn.com and it worked. Does it matter if you're using GRPS or not, because I didn't? |

how did you get it working? I think the majority of people here are using GPRS including myself, what are you using? |

I have 2 phones and four sim cards for all networks.my motorola T260 works well for msn mobile on all networks. But R520m doesnt. Its not network problem but software problem of ericssons. If you want to reach your hotmail account go to hotmailviewer. Go to: 2on.com and find hotmail and register with your hotmail username and passw. Check your inbox to read unread mails(not others) and reply.

Correct it seems it's not a network but to a problem with msnmobile's browser detection and the T610. It's not however a software problem with Ericsson phones, as I've said before msnmobile worked fine with my old T68... |

Write to them again ask ask them to remove their browser aware pages or to give a dedicated wml only site. that will save all these errors. Or of course they could just at the T610 http user string?

I am on BPL Mobile network, Mumbai. I get error - CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER. Strangely my friend who uses Orange has same problem on his T68i. I asked customer care and was told that my phone has problem. But I am SURE its not the phone.

I just completed MSN customer satisfaction survey. I massively complained about problems which I am having while using T610 to connect to hotmail. Hopefully it works. |
