Was it an Orange phone and is it functioning properly, now that it is back from Baker St? Also, does anyone know of any problem with replacing the same memory stick. I ask this because so many seem to be stressed about having to loose all their software during the upgrade. Well, if all the apps etc are stored on the memory stick - as they should be - why is this a problem for anyone? Am i going to have a problem replacing my memory stick?

The phone worked fine and I am on O2, but it was bought un Voda. My stick was not touched when it was flashed and al the software on the stick was there. I had backed up just before it went in so i just restored it when i got it back. Make sure you use the new PC Suite as it does not overwrite the softare version.

Hope this helps

Thanks. And what specific difference has it made? No-one on any of the forums seems to specify this, other than camera light sensitivity, full screen (?) video and sms delivery reports. Once they get the upgrade they seem to leave the forum (understandable!). Any chance of a full run-down for everyone?

Rang CPW in Milton Keynes earlier. Told that an upgrade wasn't available but if it was it would be sent off and I would have to wait 14 days. Forget that!

Please be nice- this is my 1st post!
Churchwa, u say that only the new PC Suite does not overwrite the software version- is this the PC Suite that came with the P800 or is there a new one?
Also, ive heard that if anything goes wrond with the software update at CPW, the phone warrenty is invalidated! Is this true?

There is very little diffrence in the phone except for all the imaging features.
New image Viewer
New Camera soft
New Video soft
New screen saver, some blocks flying around
SMS recipts

And thats about it, i am sure there are some othr really small features that have changed, but nothing of note.

Hiley-loose is not the same word as lose. loose means not tight, slack as in my shoe lace is loose. Saying loose in the context of P800 data retrieval makes no sense at all, the word you need is lose-as in the loss of something. Why do so many people make this extremely simple error?.

Dear Spike

Thank you for your comments regarding my one spelling mistake. Here are some samples of the spelling used on the last two pages;

warrenty , prefere, ummed and arrred, bought un Voda, anything goes wrond, warrenty is invalidated, little diffrence, ad there phoen upgraded, car pheon warehsoe, etc, etc.

As u can c, peeple hear r knot stewpid, thay r spead tiiping. The purpose of vis syte ees knot an inglish leson, but a plays two discus teknikal ishues. Diks lyke yoo kontribute nuthing and pees nyce - moor intelijent - peeple offf. Downt bea a twaat.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

AS of today Milton Keynes CPW Repairs will do P800 upgrades.

I have informed the engineer to do so.

Chepaside (city of London) said today their engineer is on a course and will probably start upgrading the FW next wednesday (regardless of whether the P800 was bought from them or elsewhere).
The guy at the counter seemed to know what I was talking about too
