It may be that they have software.
But.
Its not official software.
Its not cleared software.
Its not Ericsson Approved software.
Its not release software.
Still want to get your phone upgraded? Look at the 'T68 to T68i - The Official Line' thread. |

Fortunately I live in Wimbledon so I'll be off to DVH tomorrow morning, and will post as soon as I've had a good fiddle with the new software.
Will the Flash nuke all my settings and phone book? If so what software would people recommend for backing it up to PC via infra red with?

No, why don't you call them and check?
I went there this morning and they said that R1D was available but that they were having problems downloading it from the Ericsson website and couldn't do the upgrade at the moment. They suggested phoning them tomorrow to see if they had resolved the problem. |

Hello peeps,
I just phoned the official SE upgrade centre in London and they said that the most up-to-date SW upgrade is the R2b. I asked about the MMs update, and they said that SE have not announced an official date for it yet. He went on to say that someone had posted a ficticious msg on the net talking about R1d, and ppl have been phoning all day asking about it. He said it was totally untrue. I guess we'll know the truth 2morrow at 9am.

Calm down Visitor! It's not worth getting upset about.
I should have been more precise in my earlier postings. I didn't say that there was an MMS software upgrade available.
My point was that DVH Communications in SW London (who are an approved Ericsson upgrade centre) claim to have a software upgrade for the T68 which has version R1D. Several other people on this board seem to have called them and got the same response. DVH haven't told me whether it includes MMS or not. If you want to find out more about this then why not call them yourself? (+442089716100). I have no association with DVH in any way (other than having been there once previously to get upgraded to R2B013) and I am not claiming that this R1D upgrade exists, merely that I have been told by them that it does.
Ericsson support (+448705237237) seem rather confused on the whole issue of whether R1D exists or not.
I'm sure we'll find out sooner or later what is going on. |

Just got back from DVH Communications in London again. I managed to speak to one of their engineers this time. He told me that as far as he knows there is no R1D upgrade and that there is no R1D download available from Ericsson. He is in the dark just as much as the rest of us. He also said that he though R2B contained MMS (which we know it doesn't).
Yesterday, the same company told me (and other people on this forum) several times that R1D does exist and that they were in the process of downloading it from Ericsson.
Whether it exists or not (and I don't think it does) I am not going to believe a word that DVH tell me in future unless it has been confirmed by Ericsson first.
Apologies to anyone who was misled or had their hopes raised by this. I was hoping that DVH were correct in what they were telling me but it seems they weren't.
jmackie, you started this thread about R1D. Where did you hear of it from? Was it just a joke? |

I reckon this is just a marketing ploy by DVH, just trying to get everyone to come to their shop. I mean why would it be called R1D, there is no logical explanation for the D, R1A or R3A or R2C would make sense but not R1D...I think they are nice us about. They claim the server is down, and has been for the last 2-3 days...the server just wouldnt go down like that. I have called DVH multiple times asking what version they have etc. and every time they have offered to give me directions to their shop and a map etc. etc. sounds like they are desperate or something...
I think we brits need to make some nasty phone calls and tell that clearly clueless secretary that we think she is spreading bullshit... |
