I read a passage about the T610 the other day, and apparently the camera is worse than the CommuniCams and the P800...is that so?

Well, that wouldn't be a bad idea...seems rather stupid though! I think this thread should be changed to 'About T610'! Oh yeah you have any idea when the T610 is in the shops? In Europe of course.

the T610, or T616, have lesser quality cameras than the P800; however, they are not meant to be stand alone digital cameras, they are for MMS and will provide higher resolution than a MMS can accomodate.

Well it wouldn't be a bad idea but would look rather stupid! BTW do you have any ideas when it hits the shelves in Europe?

Y'know I've been thinking about that joystick thing most of the day (today was a quiet night at o2 tech support) and I think it could cause real technical problems.

With the amount of moisture that can come from your hands in different circumstances (sweat, rain etc) surely putting a LED right where your hand will rest 24/7 is a bit odd? I can but hope SE would not do something as silly as that.

As for the t610 release - everyone seems to think its soon but nobody has a date.

What do you guys reckon I'll get for my t68i (mint condition) and an mca20? I'm planning on selling up soonish and then getting a crappy (an ancient 3210, believe it or not) phone just to tide me over until the t610 comes out. It's either that or (imo) lose a lot of money on my t68i because no bugger wants it

I'm hoping for around £150/£200 for the phone and camera - the software is MMS ready and its unlatched - is that a bit OTT?

Well, the T608 as far as I know IS the T610, but it's the Asia Pacific version. Moreover, the T606 is for the Americas. As to the LED in the joystick, we still need convincing! Anyone who has a link for the doubters please put it here!

The T608 is not the T610. The T606 and T608 are CDMA phones for the North American market. The 606 is kinda like a T300, and the 608 is more like a T68i...bluetooth, colour screen etc. Does not feature polyphonics, 65k screen, or built in camera.

http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-t610-en.shtml

heres the place i found about the service indicator being in the joystick, its about 3/4 of the way down.

"A navigation joystick, which is positioned under the screen, can be pressed. It is very comfortable. You can see a service indicator in it. It is almost not noticeable in stand-by mode, what is the also a virtue of the phone. It’s not irritating by blinking when it lies near you on the table."
