the design is crap! it's like an updated t300 but the features are nice.
if you don't have something nice to say, don't say something nice. FUEHRER MEANS "LEADER" IN GERMAN STUPID. |

Sad to say I think the design is a disappointment, the T68i has a very beautiful curvy shape - almost like a woman...
Nice features though. |

.. Could have been better IMHO, maybe a curve or two will do.

I think it's great! Very stylish and elegant... It's not a plastic toy as many NOKIAs are. Remember old Ericssons? None of them had curves, but they still were the best! I just love t610!!!

Come on people, of course SE can't release new phones with a 2 year old design (I mean new models looking like T68 or T65)..
Imaging SE saying "These are our brand new models which we intentionally designed to look at least 2 years old.. We think that phones that appears to be 2 years old are easy to sell and we think we will earn a lot of cash by doing this way.."
Personally I think that T610 is most beautiful mobile I've ever seen and I also think it will kick the asses of 8910/8850 and be the new king of flashy/fashon/show-off phones. |

ThreeX,
perhaps you should go take English language lessons...
I asked about the DESIGN aspect of the phone and not the overall.
Sorry pal, I know what it is like to spend a bundle on your BMW, I mean, the Siemens S55 and then find out that SE has just released a meaner, kick S55er phone. With your money spent and lots of regrets, the only way to feel better is to ridicule the latter. Poor guy...
I think there is enough sympathy in me in not throwing up a list of what my friends say about the Siemens S55... it will only make you sadder...

@lesneo
Perhaps you should actually _read_ the post?
I quote:
"Too bad.. they obviously donīt want a bigger share of the market judging by the design.."
"What is it? A calculator? A remote control?"
"Congrats! First the t300 GH198-retro lookalike and now this?"
"I didnīt know Motorola and Panasonic had a joint venture going on"
"Like exchanging the Corvette with a Lada, jeez"
"Not what i would call a must have.. or even want for that matter.."
"But seriously, were they in some kind of hurry?"
Isnīt that design related comments?
Regarding the S55, itīs a t68i competitor in both price and performance. I wasnīt satisfied with the t68i and got the S55 for basically the same price and got way better performance. The S55 was available at the time I wanted it, and i do not want a bad camera as i already got a digicam. You can post opinions from around the world about the S55, i really donīt care. I like it, period. The difference between you and me is that you asked for opinions and i didnīt. If you donīt like the answers, donīt ask the questions!
Stick to the subject, I do.

I think it looks great, sure it hasn't got memory stick and only 2mb mem
but for a phone that is the same size as a t68i with an in built camera and 65000 tft screen it looks great. If people want memory sticks and such then buy a p800.

I like the T610, it is a sweet design. Ok its no T68 (i) and that was a stunning phone for its time, but also difficult to manufacture, required specially made batteries (even now there are two sets that need to be made, one for T68, and one for t68i, just to match the looks of the two models).
It was a special phone, and shoudl be known for what it was. It was THE phone that caused Nokia to get really scared. And had great longitivety. It was an Ericsson phone that didnt look like an ericsson, and is still sold today. Let it be for what it was. The new designs are nice, and i like them, they are nto the same as old ericssons, but they are still nice. ANd maybe its a good thing they dont look like older ericssons, rememebr we see ericsson as technically supreior, but from past experience, most of the public do not think that way. They remember ericsson as a company that went down. It woudl be pure folly to repeat that mistake. I remember myself when I first saw the T39, I was thinking is it the same as the T28, which had problems and some problems on the feature side. I didnt realise at the time that the T39 was a remarkable phone brimming with features, but simply the fact that it looked like the T28, caused me shivers. The T68 changed the design, and made it look like a phone that was different to others in the range, and peole convieniently forgot past ericsson failures and gave it a go. Noone i know who bought the original T68 or T68i are dissapointed with their investment, and they even say "its not like a normal ericsson, which is why I like it"
Now its time to move on. The new T610 uses the same battery as the T300, and T310, whcih makes it cheaper to manufacture in volume. And before people bash it as as a "sony/Japanese" design, remember it is designed by a swedish guy (mentioned in the mobile-review.com review)
Also remember the Sony phones were generally well recieved by the public. I see many people carrying a T300, including myself, certainly more people than I see carryng a "Ericsson" phone (a phone universally called "butt ugly" by people on this forum). Those people love the phone, and think it looks cute.
What really cheeses me off, was when I had a nokia and in a busy environment, whenever someone's phones text message beep comes, about 10 including myself people woudl look at their phoen thinking they got a message). I originally bought the Ericsson to be different. Now in crowded places, we hear the "da da da da" and now ten people start digging out their T68is and T300s. No more unique! (SE, PLEASE allow us to select our own message beep in the future!)
Ok enough of my ranting and raving!
