There was a talk about DRAM being in short supply, also it may be another place for cost cutting. Or they are keeping them for X1 M2.
I don't understand the fuss about the naming either. It's like the reverse of Nokia and when someone comes first in a race, smaller the number the better. If they named it 2 it'd have been confused with a successor to the 1. I think they wanted to make it clear that 1 is THE flagship.

I'm very curious of their next year's decisions (and flagship, of course).
I don't want to see them showing their stubbornness anymore. I'm getting tired of it although it's official that sony isn't going to be the brand of my next phone.

That's because Xperia 1's camera acts like Sony's own alpha cameras (and every other camera in its class). But I do prefer s10's level of Dynamic Range. Besides, Xperia 1's detail level and consistency still behibd others.

Are you kidding? X1 only loses at the very center of the image other than that it has the most detailed shots. If you mean clipped highlights and crushed shadows that's another thing.
And those hdr images are mostly post processing like they're edited in snapseed. S10 washes out shadows to make it look like it has more dr. It's not natural. |

Tech site here used a6400 as target for blind test.
They used Pixel 3, S10+, iphone xs and p30 pro.
A6400 on auto often left background overexposed.
I highly doubt any cellphone would show scene closer to reality than an apsc.
Even xz2 was out, I saw another test with A7s2 as target.
Both had similar exposure looking.

I did a quick comparison of my 1 Vs my RX100IV, there's not as much difference as I was expecting. The 1 does better in high contrast scenes, it does it's auto HDR where the camera doesn't.

First of all, there's no device in the world that "rapes" Xperia 1. Take it as a fact.
Second and more important, you mix between Sony Mobile and Sony semiconductor to prove your point. Not only that it doesn't prove your point, but the best phone cameras out there use a Sony sensor (which isn't made by Sony mobile).
Regarding DXO, they are full of shit nowadays and you can witness this in the score they give various devices from different manufacturers, not just Sony, and then compare these scores to reality.

It's a Sony fan forum. So I can undestand he's a fanboy. No problem with that. Everyone is a troll when you criticise someones favorite brand. But just ignoring facts is ridiculous. Saying every other Tech site is wrong is just... well.. ridiculous. Fan boys forget that the criticism we make towards Sony is to try to make the company get up again and be a real player like they were in the pass. Sony kicked asses long time agora. At least try to see were they are now.

As I talk to people around other tech forums we joke that Sony and LG develops Phones just to say they can develop Phones nowdays... They hardly fight anyone anymore in several mobile departments.
God I miss Sony from the 2000's....
I really wish and franclly hope they can awake again...  i'm still in the "Go Sony!" team, even if its hard nowdays.

What's different is that they're marketing the feature this time
Sony's already got PlayStation remote play on iOS and Xperia phones, and expansion to other Android phones can't be far off now. They've also got their PlayStation Now streaming service that they are expanding and support for phones is something we should probably be seeing in the next year or so. Not to mention the PS5 is about a year away so they're going to want to hitch upcoming Xperias up to that behemoth and hope some of the features and marketing will help bump interest in the phones. |

11 months ago we saw first leak of X10 and L3.
I hope someone decides to leak "L4" in few weeks.
L3 has Helio P22 (12nm) ..
My bet goes to P35 , also 12nm.
For X10/X10+ replacements, I bet on 665 and 675.
I'd choose 7xx for the Plus.
