Plastic is very tough.
But for the price Compact needs to be glass again.
A new compact with design of xz3 + dual cam + light blue like XZs and same size of xz2c but slimmer would be interesting for many
I remember Sony had A series that was like same specs of Compact but just for Japan.
A2 was like a " z2 compact" ...

I have no idea if this means that only docomo version will be midrange.
Not sure if I'm right, but this may mean that mid-range Compact could be limited to DoCoMo in Japan, but not that it will be limited to Japan? |

Maybe 6xx for docomo and 8xx international.
Japanse dont seem to care much about having most powrful cpu. |

Please no more bad news about Compact... I hope we will see global version. SD6XX is not a big deal for me, but it should have better camera, refreshed design and slimmer body (less than 10mm). Otherwise it makes no sense.
Probably no chance of 5" OLED and it's impossible to use the same design (curved display) as in XZ3, but I'm sure they can make it few mm shorter (~130mm). |

GXF Bench always shows only one camera (main probably), so it's not exactly reliable source of that.
And it seems many tested devices "disappeared". I remember looking at tests of S9+, XZ2 and now they are no more to be found on the site?

I prefer " xz4" for CES and " xz5/xz5c/xz5p" for IFA than " xz4/xz4c/xz4p" and "xz5".
They could make " xz4" as a xz3 + dual cam + 6/128 + in-s FPS.
Then for IFA some upgrades like design and cam.
Buks did not confirm, but did not deny the benchmark..
Bonus: xz3 does not have tape to wake up. Screen comes from LG.. |

Actually that also exist in XZ2 series, it is called "Lift to check device" in Display setting. |

Please accept my apologize in advance as this is not topic related but I want to share my sadness and anger...
This morning I just learn that SONY Mobile Thailand will stop to import new model to sell until the HQ make the good model that can sell enough and they will also stop hiring sales person in phone shop as well as no more co-working with mobile operator.
The reason is the branch suffer poor benefit.
and so... I want to curse those old man at the HQ

I bet southeast Asia is like South America.
Where midranges are much more popular than flagships..
Problem is the fact chinese brands have low cost.
Xioami does not ned to sell.phones to survive, then they just care about units sold and not profits.
They put 660/636 inside low ends and charge $200.
Maybe if Sony decided to be more aggressive sales could improve.
Like XA3 powered by 670 and L3 by 636.
